The news from the Danish camp hits back — the Astralis organization has officially terminated the contract with Martin “stavn” Lund. It happened on January 7, 2026, after, as they say in the club, a “respectful dialogue,” although in fact the shooter had not played in the base since August. Martin, by the way, had to take a break to get over the personal tragedy of his brother’s death, so his departure looks like a logical and humane step.

Reasons for stavn’s exclusion and the Astralis composition crisis
We are facing a real collapse of the old guard, because stavn has already become the third top player to leave the team in recent weeks. It is worth considering that earlier the legendary Nicolai ‘dev1ce’ Reedtz and Emil ‘Magisk‘ Reif left Astralis — the guys, apparently, decided to seek their fortune in international mixes. The organization, in general, now resembles a construction site where they are trying to build something new on the ruins of former greatness just before the start of the season.
Martin, by the way, joined the team in November 2023 and managed to pick up two silver medals in 2025 — at PGL Astana 2025 and the FISSURE Playground 1 tournament.
Astralis plans for the BLAST Bounty 2026 tournament
Now the Danish club, in truth, is hanging out on the 15th line of the Valve (VRS) rating, and this is clearly not the result they expected. BLAST Bounty Season 1 looms ahead — the first serious event of 2026, where 32 teams will meet, and Astralis among them.
The situation is, in fact, stalemate:
-
The roster is missing two players.
-
Closed BLAST Bounty qualifiers will start on January 13th.
-
The names of the newcomers are still kept secret.
It’s fair to say that the management has only a little time left to present the top five who will enter the five-day online qualifiers. The winners, by the way, will take 8 tickets to the LAN finals and critical VRS points – judging by the course of events, Astralis will have to jump over its head in order not to fail the beginning of the year.
In short, we are watching a Danish car trying to change the engine right on the move — it looks risky from all sides.
