G2 Esports seems to have decided not to wait for the end of the season and consolidate their young blood — and this is a damn logical move, to be honest. Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan, who is currently tearing up the jungle for the Samurai, has officially extended his agreement with the organization for another 2 years, which is actually rare for such sudden ups.

If you look into the LoL Global Contract database (GCD) — and the data rarely lies there — you can see a funny edit. Previously, his term of office expired on November 16, 2026, but now the date has been shifted all the way to November 20, 2028. The club is still silent and does not officially announce this, but the numbers in the registry are a stubborn thing.

SkewMond’s contract with G2 Esports has been extended until 2028

G2 Esports has secured Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan until 2028 — and this is too logical a move, by the way. The organization rolled out a contract extension for two seasons at once, as soon as the guy managed to move from the BDS Academy.

In fact, a real war broke out for Jungler during the LEC 2025 transfer window. There were rumors of interest from SK Gaming and Karmine Corp. in the market — after all, the monster with a peak of 2,140 LP in SoloQ EUW is not lying on the road.

Rudy’s transfer cost and playing style analysis

Interestingly, SkewMond, in fact, fits perfectly into the long-term puzzle of the Samurai. The contract was signed at the end of 2025, and now its terms (until 2028) are well synchronized with Caps, who is on salary until 2027, and the same BrokenBlade. By the way, the player’s market weight skyrocketed after he literally destroyed everyone at EMEA Masters and LFL. The prize money for his career has already exceeded $91k, and his versatility — he is equally good at both Nunu and magicians — makes him a golden asset.

G2’s strategy here is very clear — they capture talent on shore. Instead of short affairs, the club chooses stability, so as not to shake every transfer window and systematically increase capitalization. SkewMond is very useful here, because the transition has already made a commercial noise — do you remember the record €16m profit from Solana in 2024? The contract until Worlds 2028 is, in fact, a guarantee of peace of mind for fans.

The French “king of the jungle” is already settling into a new place: in LEC Winter 2025, the team took silver, and Rudy himself, apparently, quickly found a common language with Caps and Hans Sama at the screams. For management, this is not just a rotation instead of Yike, but a real investment in growth — the guy from the academy turned into the leader of SoloQ in a matter of months, which promises excellent ROI in terms of sponsorship checks and audience loyalty.

SkewMond is generally handsome. The guy has been on the pro scene since 2021, but he caught the real hype at the BDS academy when he took the LFL 2024 summer split and the EMEA Masters 2024 trophy. It was taken as the basis for the G2 before the start of the LEC 2025 season — and that’s where the fun began. In his first year in the big leagues, Rudy managed to take the gold of the LEC summer split and slide to MSI along with the World Championship. It’s powerful, isn’t it?

Aspect SkewMond Previous Jungler (Yike)
Prize Earnings $91,620+ (BCK 1st place, EMEA Masters Summer 2024) ~$150k, but no recent titles
SoloQ Peak 2140 LP EUW (2025 record) ~1500 LP
Market Value High (interest from 5+ LEC teams) Average after Worlds struggles
Contract Status Signed until 2028 Expired in 2025

The team is currently sweating at the LEC 2026 Versus tournament. At stake is a ticket to the First Stand, the first global event of this year, and so far the guys have a score of 5-4. They only have a couple of games left in the regular season to guarantee themselves a place in the playoffs, so the intrigue is, in fact, at its limit.

Current G2 Esports LoL roster for the LEC 2026 season

In general, G2 is the real dinosaurs of the industry, which have been shining in the top since 2014. Do they still remember their legendary 2019? Winning the MSI and the World Cup finals is a bar that is difficult to surpass now, but they are trying.

In 2026, management decided not to fix what was working, and left last year’s backbone:

  • Toplane: Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik
  • Forest: Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan
  • Foreign Ministry: Rasmus “Caps” Winther
  • HELL Kerry: Steven “Hans Sama” Liv
  • Support: Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis

By the way, the oldies have recently returned to the club’s media —  Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski and Maya “Caltys” Henckel will now be sawing content, which makes the oldies very happy. But here’s the curious thing: BrokenBlade, Hans Sama, Labrov, and even Jonas “Memento” Elmarghichi assistant coach have contracts ticking over until the end of 2026. Why only the forester has been extended so far is a big question. Apparently, the organization sees SkewMond as the foundation for the next generation, although, in truth, the future of the rest of the cast’s stars is still up in the air. It will be interesting to see if the club will make announcements on the rest of the players in the near future or if a large-scale reshuffle awaits us.
