The Mexican club LYON has finally signed its impotence in front of the bureaucracy — the contract with Frankie “Zamudo” Lin has been officially terminated. The Canadian toplane, who had high hopes for the LCS 2026 season, was unable to break through the visa barriers. The team simply couldn’t wait any longer for a player who couldn’t physically be around his teammates.

Zamudo’s Career and the Reasons Behind the 2026 LCS Visa Issues
Frankie’s journey in North America, to be honest, looked like an exemplary success story. The guy spent two years “cooking” in amateur teams, until in 2023 he broke into the NACL under the tag Wildcard Gaming. The real breakthrough came in 2024, when he won the summer playoffs with Dragonsteel and earned the title of finals MVP. A huge pool of champions and cool microcontrol, in fact, became his ticket to LYON in the summer of 2025.
However, the evil fate pursued him from the very beginning. The debut in LTA North was supposed to take place last year, but even then the visa was “stuck”. However, the club tried to save the situation by renting to Isurus, hoping that the issues would be resolved by 2026. Apparently, it’s not fate.
Dhokla replaces Zamudo in LYON’s starting lineup
The problems dragged on so long that the organization put Zamudo inactive on January 12, and now it has completely released it. The place on the top line, by the way, was taken by a veteran of the scene and an ex-player of 100 Thieves, Niship “Dhokla” Doshi. Apparently, Dhokla will stay at the base for a long time, as LYON needs a stable squad here and now.
LYON’s LCS Playoff Prospects Against FlyQuest
In the offseason, LYON, in short, were called the main triumphs of the transfer window. Why not sign Casper “Inspired” to scrap in the forest and take Kim “Berserker” Min-chol (ex-DNSOOPers) to the position of ADC… The line-up looked like a bid for dominance.
But the reality turned out to be painful, to put it mildly:
-
LCS Lock-In: The team crawled only to the sixth place in the “regular season” — this is clearly not what the fans expected.
-
Decisive match: On February 21, the team will face FlyQuest in the lower bracket of the playoffs.
-
Bets: A loss means a total loss. No America’s Cup, no First Stand, the first global event of the season.
Unexpectedly, Dreamtime was on the verge of collapse at the very beginning of the journey. To tell the truth, replacing a toplane at such a moment is always a risk, but LYON simply has no other options left.
