Japanese Alps and Land Cruiser 250 have appeared in the new trailer for Forza Horizon 6

A real gift for racing fans — the developers from Playground Games have finally shown fresh footage of the gameplay of Forza Horizon 6. The focus was on the brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser 250 SUV model 2025, which, by the way, will officially decorate the cover of the upcoming hit. Judging by the video, we are in for an incredible journey through Japan — from mud-soaked lowlands to dazzling white snow-capped peaks.

It was on heavy machines that the authors decided to focus this time — especially for the sixth part, they rewrote the physics of suspension operation. The new simulation system allows you to literally feel with your skin how each wheel clings to the ground on harsh off—road terrain – this is a serious step forward for the series. Iconic places flashed through the video: Sagano bamboo thickets, the famous Tateyama-Kurobe mountain route and, of course, majestic Fujiyama.

Improved off-road physics and suspension for heavy vehicles in FH6

The new wheel simulation in Forza now delicately calculates the contact of a spot with a surface — literally everything is taken into account, including slipping and even dangerous diagonal hanging on rocky streamers. Admittedly, it’s impressive: when one wheel loses its footing, you can feel the inertia of a huge SUV trying to pull you into the abyss. The suspension of heavy monsters, by the way, has learned how to adequately dampen bumps on bumps, broadcasting an honest return to the steering wheel.

Heavy vehicles, like the Land Cruiser 250, now swing as plausibly as possible, but at the same time, control of the car does not turn into torture. In the sticky mud of the Japanese lowlands, the “two hundred” really gets stuck – the huge mass only enhances the effect of immersion, forcing you to literally struggle with slipping while the front tires furiously dig a deep rut.

On the snowy slopes of the Japanese Alps, the grip changes smoothly — the tires begin to slide quite predictably, and the steering wheel becomes pleasantly heavy due to increased inertia. To be honest, off-road driving in Forza Horizon 6 has finally stopped being just a beautiful setting — now it’s a lively, aggressive environment. The steering wheel provides completely different feedback on viscous ground and snow, and the suspension “swallows” the bumps without a silly arcade bounce.

The Land Cruiser 250 here acts as a balanced testing ground for demonstrating all these innovations — its heavy weight turns every trip to the mountains into a serious driving test.

Land Cruiser 250 Physics & Handling

Location Land Cruiser 250 Behavior Key Physics Features
Lowland Mud Heavy rear wheel spin, slow acceleration New wheel simulation, mass impact on contact patch
Japanese Alps Snow Smooth sliding, loss of traction on inclines Tire wear, surface transitions
Rocky Serpentines Cross-axle articulation, suspension work on bumps Reworked suspension for heavy vehicles
Surface Swap (Dirt-Asphalt) Sharp steering response, cornering inertia Realistic inertia, steering force feedback

Curiously, the surprises of Playground Games do not end there — in addition to physics, the developers have prepared something special in terms of visualizing damage and dirt.

It looks amazing — each location has its own unique flora.

It is worth considering that the picture will constantly change — the dynamic weather and the change of seasons directly affect how the tracks look at different times of the year. To tell the truth, the scale is impressive — they promise to roll out more than 550 licensed cars at the start, with the main focus on the Japanese car industry. It won’t be long now.

Forza Horizon 6 is scheduled for release on May 19, 2026 — the game will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Later, the project will reach the PlayStation 5, which is good news. For those who are not used to dragging their feet, there is a Premium edition – it gives you the right to break into the race early, on May 15th.
