The Overwatch 2 player, a hero of the Damage category, was defeated in the finals in October 2015. A clever experimenter with flaming hair and torn camouflage shorts, and instead of his right leg he has a homemade prosthesis. Explosives are not just a hobby for him, but the real essence, bordering on madness.

The story of the Junkrat in Overwatch 2

The character’s real name is Jamison Fox, he hails from desert Australia. In the game, the world watches as the Junkrat grows up, and his life has never been peaceful.

He once lived in Junkertown, a city that grew up on the fragments of a destroyed nuclear reactor. There he was a member of a gang called the Vultures, who earned money by collecting scrap metal and selling pieces of machinery. The radioactive dust, the eternal struggle for survival and the constant explosions turned Fox into the crazy pyromaniac that fans know today.

Interesting facts about Krysavchik

The hero’s last name, Fox, is not an accident. It brings us closer to the English conspirator Guy Fawkes, a participant in the famous Gunpowder plot of 1605. Thus, among the lines of the character, you can hear the phrase

“I remember the fifth day of November for a reason…”

This quote is a kind of nod to history and pop culture. In the Russian version, the Junkrat even sings:

“This bomb is for you!”

to the tune of the famous children’s song about an orange. Another advantage is that Tchaikovsky’s overture, which accompanied the explosions in the film “V means Vendetta,” sounds in the original English.

Union of Krysavchik and Turbosvina

One day, Jamison found a valuable find. The rumors spread quickly, and a real hunt began for him. In order not to die, he hired a Turboswine bodyguard, promising to give half of the loot.

Together they became a legendary duo of criminals. However, the Queen of Vultures, ruler of Junkertown, did not like their rapid activity. After her accomplices robbed her and blew up her favorite bar, she drove them out of the city. To regain the Queen’s favor, Junkrat and Turboswine embarked on a series of insane raids around the world. The governments of various countries quickly announced a reward for their capture — as much as $ 25 million.

Return to Junkertown

After stuffing their pockets with gold, the heroes returned to Australia. But the gates of Junkertown were locked. Then the friends devised a daring plan: disguise themselves, hide the treasures in a wagon, and disguise themselves as merchants to infiltrate the Vulture Queen in order to regain their good name.

But everything went awry—and, as usual, it was the Junkrat’s fault. When the guards asked who they were, he said with a satisfied grin:

“We are Krysavchik and Turbosvine!”

The plan fell apart, but it’s precisely for such antics that fans adore this explosive madman.

Junkrat’s Abilities and Weapons in Overwatch 2

The Junkrat’s main tool is a long—range grenade launcher loaded with five grenades. It fires at a rate of about 1.66 grenades per second, and the shells fired bounce merrily off walls and other obstacles. The explosion occurs either upon a direct hit to the enemy, or after a second bounce. The detonation radius is about two meters. The Junkrat himself does not suffer from his own grenades, but enemies receive up to 130 units of damage with an accurate hit and about 80 units if a grenade explodes nearby.

It takes only one and a half seconds to recharge, and the grenade’s flight speed is approximately 17.5 m/s.

The grenade launcher and its chips

Krysavchik loves disorder, and his “High-explosive mine” proves it stylishly. It has the option to throw an enemy into the air and deal up to 120 damage. At the same time, the hero can also use a mine against gravity — detonate it under him to take off without losing health. The mine can be mounted on a wall or floor, it is activated manually. The damage radius is about two meters: the closer the enemy is to the center of the explosion, the more painful it is. But the enemy can destroy the device if they have time. Ability cooldown is 8 seconds.

Trap — a trap for the unwary

When the Junkrat activates the Trap ability, he throws a massive iron trap that can take up to 80 health points, stun the target for a second and paralyze movement for three. A trapped opponent cannot move, but remains able to turn the camera, shoot, and use abilities. The trap is triggered if the enemy comes within a meter of it, and remains active until someone steps into it.

“Hell’s Tire” — Krysavchik’s signature chaos

The ultimate ability is the “Hell Tire”. Motorized wheel, inside the cage there are explosives with manual control. Jumps over obstacles and climbs walls, even May’s “Ice Wall”.

The tire has a safety margin of 100 units, a movement speed of 10 m/s, and when detonated, it causes up to 600 damage. You can manually detonate the wheel or wait for the automatic explosion after 10 seconds. The Junkrat himself is not strong enough to explode and does not undermine himself.

Passive ability “Total Chaos”

When the Junkrat dies, five small bombs remain, each of which can cause up to 60 damage. Some heroes are able to dodge — for example, D.Va He blocks the grenades with his “Protective Matrix”, and Genji repels them with “Repelling attacks”.

If Batiste’s “Reinforcement Matrix” is activated nearby, the damage from these explosions will become even stronger.

How to unlock a Junkrat Carrier

At the beginning of the game, the Rat Carrier is unavailable. To unlock the hero, you need to win 12 times in any mode.

There is also a second option — a Combat pass. By purchasing it, players can gain access to the Ratcatcher and other rewards, including skins and unique items that change every season.

How to Play as Junkrat in Overwatch 2

The Junkrat in Overwatch 2 is a character related to the category of “Damage” who refers faith to anarchists with grenades. He is a master of destruction and demolition, able to quickly weaken enemies and sow panic among opponents. Each of his quick attacks deals 30 points of damage — not much, but stable and painful.

Fox is extremely mobile: its movement speed reaches 5.5 m/ s, which allows you to quickly change positions. However, he has only 200 health points, and there are no self—healing abilities – there are no shields either, so a direct skirmish rarely ends well.

Who is Junkrat particularly strong against

Fox is a source of constant, chaotic damage. He’s not a sniper or a cold—blooded killer, but his strength lies in controlling the territory. The hero does not hit accurately, but forces the enemies to rush, losing ground.

By choosing the right place to attack and acting under the cover of allies, an experienced player is able to destroy an enemy team, turning even strong fighters into fugitives.

Tactics and tips for the game

The Junkrat’s main secret is disorder and movement. He must constantly move, throw grenades, activate abilities and not give enemies a break. The style is in chaos and has no idea what to do on the map, but the hero knows for sure.

The Junkrat is vulnerable on open maps, but turns into a nightmare of opponents in narrow corridors and rooms. He can accelerate himself with explosions and thus avoid close combat.

In the “Escort” mode, he is more often taken on the defensive. Knowing the route of the opponents, he can mine the way in advance or set traps. Since the enemies often come in a group, the Junkrat easily deals massive damage and knocks down their rhythm.

He is able to block the passage alone, because grenades ricochet off the walls, hitting those hiding behind shelters. Traps perfectly stop breakthrough heroes, turning them into easy targets.

His ulta is useful — the “Hell Tire”, which distracts the attention of enemies, forcing them to defend themselves instead of attacking.

Krysavchik’s Best Allies

Heroes who can reveal the positions of enemies, such as Hanzo or the Fateful Widow, work best with Junkrat. While the partner scans the field and reports on the movements of the opponents.

The Fateful Widow is a super partner for Fox with visibility on target, and he transforms everything around her into ashes.

How to defeat a Junkrat

The Junkrat’s main weakness is ranged combat and open terrain. He is not able to accurately hit single targets from afar, and a small reserve of health makes him vulnerable. Players who know how to act against Fox try to keep their distance and keep them away.

To quickly destroy the Junkrat, choose snipers or long-range damage heroes: Soldier 76, McCree, Farrah. It is especially effective to attack from above, where Fox’s grenades simply do not reach.

Result

A Junkrat in Overwatch 2 fireworks every day, a specialist in territory control and massive damage. He is dangerous when he acts from the shadows and constantly moves, but is vulnerable in close combat and in open spaces.

The best partners are scouts and snipers with the effect of destruction where the enemies least expect it.
