One of the biggest headaches in adventure RPGs is a perpetually overloaded backpack. The hero is lugging mountains of herbs, ore, and hides, leaving no room for a proper weapon. The developers of Crimson Desert seem to have heard the cries of players and decided to fix this pointlessness. They’ve added a special chest for collected resources—and this changes the rules.
The trick is that the materials stored in it can be used directly on workbenches, without even having to take them back into your inventory. This means you can simply collect ore, place it in the chest, and it’s automatically used for crafting or smelting. Is this a convenient feature? Definitely. No more the nightmare of a constantly empty inventory.

Where can I buy a resource chest in Crimson Desert?
Purchasing is the only way. Go to Hernand’s Furniture Shop. Location on the map: southwest of the city of Hernand, right next to the Timberham Lumbermill. The NPC merchant will sell the chest for 50 silver coins.

One chest gives you 1000 slots. If that’s not enough, you can buy several. And yes, if you’ve already upgraded the Wolf Hill Camp, stop by the local furniture shop: they’ll give you the chest at a discount. A nice set for those who aren’t too lazy to upgrade their base.
How to place the chest and use resources?
Return to the Wolf Hill Camp (it opens in Chapter 3). There’s a bridge to the east of the cliff—cross it and enter your house. Next, enter construction mode (Start button or “Options”). Place the chest appropriately where you like, then interact with it (Square / X on the gamepad).

That’s it. Now dump the rest of your junk in there: skins, ingots, potion ingredients. Your inventory will breathe a sigh of relief. And most importantly, when you approach a forge or workbench, the game automatically “recognizes” the resources in your chest. You don’t need to carry them around. It works like shared cloud storage, only in the world of Crimson Desert. This mechanic is based on common sense—and that’s a good thing.
