If you thought spy games had to be complicated, 007: First Light will come as a pleasant surprise. The game features 37 achievements (known as trophies on PlayStation), and the majority of them are awarded simply for progressing through the story—no extra effort required. The developers have included a convenient mission replay feature, allowing you to selectively “farm” any combat challenges you may have missed without having to replay the entire campaign.

The only thing that will truly take some time is tracking down the collectibles. There are 92 of them scattered across the various levels, so you’ll definitely need a guide to find them all. But here’s the good news: there are no missable achievements in the game, and none of them are tied to a specific difficulty setting. Play on any difficulty you choose—that Platinum trophy is yours.

Important Warning: Some trophy descriptions contain story spoilers. If you want to experience the story fresh, skip the section containing the “For King and Country” achievement.

How to Earn Story-Related Trophies in 007 First Light

All the achievements listed below unlock automatically as you progress through the campaign. There is no need to memorize anything.

  • Icebreaker — Survive the helicopter crash.
  • From Malta with Love — Complete the training mission in Malta.
  • Shaken, Not Stirred — Complete your first assignment at the nightclub.
  • I Expect You to Die — Survive the hotel explosion (Slovakia).
  • 007: Skyfall — Jump from the plane over Slovakia.
  • All or Nothing — Win the auction.
  • Nobody Lives Forever — Locate the body of Agent 009.
  • Spectre of Vengeance — Escape the ambush.
  • The Living Dead — Survive the assassination attempt.
  • You Only Live Twice — Defeat the assassin.
  • Agent Under Fire — Escape in a garbage truck.
  • High Altitude — Infiltrate Nicholas Webb’s penthouse.
  • No Time to Die — Escape by helicopter.
  • Double or Nothing — Rescue Teresa Lorca.
  • My Name Is Bond — The final showdown with Damien Webb.
  • The Lone Wolf — Leave MI6 as a renegade.
  • The Writing on the Wall — Capture Izola.
  • For King and Country — Defend Headquarters.

All 18 of these trophies are story-related. They are impossible to miss if you play through to the credits.

Tips for Unlocking Combat Achievements on PlayStation

Now, this is where you’ll have to get a little creative. But nothing too crazy.

  • Sleight of Hand — Disarm an enemy by shooting the weapon out of their hands. This is easiest in the “Needle’s Eye” mission during the tutorial: just shoot them in the arm.
  • He’ll Live — Incapacitate an enemy by shooting them in the legs (hit both, and they’ll fall on their own).
  • Short Fuse — Detonate a grenade in mid-air. Take cover, wait for an enemy to throw a grenade, press L3 to slow down time, and shoot the grenade. A convenient checkpoint for this is “Ambush” in the “The Past Never Dies” mission.
  • Wet Fuse — Hack a grenade before it explodes. As it flies toward you, quickly press L1 to activate the Q-Lens, then use the Q-Watch. The same checkpoint works well for this, too.
  • Arsonist — Shove an enemy into a fire extinguisher. Hold R2 to perform a shove. There are plenty of fire extinguishers at the “Laundry” checkpoint (in the “An Eternity of Time” mission).
  • Disarming Charm — Use the Laser Tripwire on an armed enemy. You receive the laser during the “The Past Never Dies” mission; the opportunity to use it arises during the combat sequence in “A Deal with Scorpius.”
  • Shocking News — Force an enemy to electrocute another. During the “Uninvited Guest” mission, in the security room, enemies will be equipped with tasers; a blue beam will indicate their target.
  • Soft Landing — Knock an enemy off a ledge by holding R2. This is easiest to achieve in “Tactical Simulations” → “Advanced Hand-to-Hand Training, Level 2: The Gauntlet.”
  • Always Have a Backup Plan — Intentionally get spotted by guards, then—instead of bluffing—use a gadget via the Q-Lens (L1).

TacSim Mode Walkthrough and Clearance Level Progression

  • Change of Pace — Complete an “Escalation” in TacSim. The easiest option is “Advanced Tactical Training, Level 1” (weapon proficiency training).
  • Preparedness Is Everything — Complete Level 3 of “Escalation.” These levels unlock sequentially.
  • What If…? — Complete an “Operation” in TacSim. This mode unlocks after you finish the main story.
  • Keep Moving Forward — Reach Clearance Level 3. This occurs naturally as you progress through “Escalations” and “Operations.”

Guide to collecting all 92 collectibles

And that’s where the longest begins. You will find:

  • 10 postcards (achieving “The whole world is not enough”)
  • 23 MI-6 files (“Intelligence” in the game) — a trophy “For your eyes only”
  • 14 souvenirs (“Recovered assets”)
  • 36 playing cards (“Casino Royale”)
  • 9 items legacy (“Legacy of Espionage”)

The final trophy “Collector’s Habit” will be given out after collecting all this stuff. The developers promise to release separate guides for each category — stay tuned.

Optimal roadmap of Platinum 007 First Light on PS5

Standard guides are often lazy and offer a “just play, then you’ll finish” scheme. The plan is so-so. If you follow it, you are guaranteed to burn hours on empty runs through chapter select.

Platinum 007 First Light roadmap

Below is a really working algorithm, with which platinum drops without unnecessary rollbacks to the final for the sake of random gains.

Platinum Roadmap — Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Stage What to Do Trophies Online
1. Campaign (Ch. 1–17) Play the story and clear out the locations immediately. 18 storyline, 5 for collection No
2. Combat Sweep Jump through checkpoints using chapter select. Up to 9 trophies No
3. TacSim (Escalations) Unlocks after Ch. 6 (but it is better to play after the credits). 2 achievements Yes
4. TacSim (Operations) Available strictly after completing the game. 1 achievement Yes
5. Clearance Level 3 Unlocks naturally while completing steps 3 and 4. 1 achievement Yes
6. Final Cleanup Finish off the remaining items for the “Collector’s Habit” trophy. No

Reasons to collect MI-6 items at once

Looking for loot after the plot is a fatal mistake. The local tracker (located in the Touchpad menu in the statistics tab) shows only the categories of items. The developers did not provide a breakdown by specific levels. Imagine: the credits have passed, and you are missing a couple of MI6 files. I’ll have to blindly comb through all 17 chapters. It is better to immediately follow the guide from the first pass. Yes, spend a couple of extra minutes examining the corners, but then chapter select will be needed exclusively for combat missions, and not for the boring search for 36 maps.

Where to farm combat achievements faster

Nine situational achievements are elementary to farm on convenient checkpoints (we gave them above). Did you run through the “Laundry Room” or the same “Ambush”, but forgot about the “Short Fuse” and the “Arsonist”? Get ready for tedious restarts. Keep the list handy (right on your phone nearby) and check it before every major clash.

When is the best time to run TacSim simulations?

Technically, access to escalation is given after Chapter 6. Don’t fall for it. Operations are blocked anyway until the end of the campaign. It is more reasonable to close the entire online in one solid pass. The scheme is simple: three escalations (it will take 15 minutes in total), followed by one operation (about 3 more minutes). If the third level of access has not been reached, restart the shortest escalation with intra-session challenges for bonus XP.

How many hours will Platinum 007 First Light take?

Forget about the “20 o’clock” fairy tales from the template manuals. The actual timings depend heavily on your strategy.

Estimated Time to Platinum Trophy

Playstyle Format Time Required Nuances
Speedrun (Trophy Run) ~15 hours Story Mode, perfect knowledge of maps
Efficient Platinum ~19–20 h Simultaneous collection, combat challenges completed immediately (no chapter select)
Platinum with Cleanup ~22–25 h Missed loot and partial cleanup
Story Only ~10–12 hours Normal difficulty, no distractions for collectibles

The main headache is those 92 collectibles. The guys from PowerPyx calculated the base: a blind search consumes 5-8 hours of pure time on top of the plot. Armed with the guides, you will cut this figure to 2-3 hours. TacSim modes with normal focus will take a maximum of 30 minutes. In short, there is only one variable. If you start with a loot guide from the first minute, you will save a decent 3-5 hours on the final stage.

By the way, in addition to achievements and collectibles, there are challenges in each mission. For completing them, new suits are opened for the agent. Not necessary, but nice. Bottom line: platinum in 007 First Light is a matter of time and a couple of hours to clear the cards. No hardcore. It’s a shame not to pick it up.
