The “Sea You Later!” trophy in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is one of those cases where the description is misleading, and finding the object without a hint is nearly impossible if you’re already ahead in the story. But we’ll show you where and when.

Where to find the turtle in Resonance for the achievement?
It’s actually quite simple: return to Chapter 3, to the “Paradise” subsection, immediately after Sofia and Leni arrive on Minotaur Island. Once the cutscene ends and control returns to Sofia, head left (west) along the coastline. Stick to the beach, not going inland. You’ll soon notice a flock of seagulls circling over something on the sand—that’s your surefire landmark.

Approach it, and the birds will scatter, revealing a sea turtle. A short dialogue will immediately begin between Sofia and Leni as the reptile slowly crawls back toward the water. Once it completely disappears beneath the surface, the achievement will unlock.

This trophy is easy to miss for two reasons: it’s not marked on the map and isn’t tied to the main quest.
Why is the “Sea You Later” achievement so easy to miss?
Asobo Studio traditionally avoids visual clutter in areas where it’s important to immerse the player in the atmosphere rather than force them to clear the map following yet another checklist. The turtle on the sandy shore is a direct embodiment of this philosophy. The developers deliberately stripped it of standard interface elements like an icon, compass, or sound alert. The moment was conceived as a natural detail of the environment, not a trivial mechanic. The only clue the engine leaves is a flock of seagulls circling in the sky above the sand.

The situation is exacerbated by the location’s topography. At the start of Chapter 3, the story objective “follow the marauders’ trail” explicitly directs the player to the right, inland, toward the ruins and Resonance Points. Our goal lies in the opposite direction—on the left, where, by game design rules, there’s absolutely nothing to do. A player accustomed to blindly trusting the quest marker simply turns their back on the achievement within the first few seconds.
Three factors work against trophy hunters here:
-
Isolation from the interface: Unlike artifacts or Charms, the reptile isn’t highlighted on the radar or when approached.
-
Hostile navigation: The route to the shore completely contradicts the main quest indicator “follow the marauders’ trail.”
-
Short window of opportunity: If you pass the birds without stopping, the animal will dive into the depths before the dialog box opens.
COMPARISON: SEA YOU LATER! ACHIEVEMENT VS. A COMMON COLLECTIBLE ITEM
This approach has long been a familiar signature of Asobo Studio. The studio regularly leaves secret content for those willing to explore locations contrary to signs and follow a non-linear storyline.
If you’ve already completed the chapter, no problem. Load your save or restart the third episode through the chapter select menu and repeat the route. The main thing is not to go to the lighthouse; stay on the shore.
Does the turtle pass affect platinum and the story?
The short answer: no. The panic surrounding missed achievements in Resonance is usually greatly exaggerated. Sea You Later! is a standard bronze trophy that has absolutely no impact on the narrative or unlocking other rewards. The intimate dialogue between Sofia and Lenny near the turtle is purely for atmosphere—it doesn’t change the characters’ future dialogue or block transitions between chapters.
This pass also won’t be an obstacle on the path to the Platinum Trophy if you reach the end using Chapter Select. Resonance is designed so that almost no achievement is tied to a single playthrough. All artifacts, charms, and the Sea You Later! trophy itself can be easily collected after completing the story without losing any overall progress.
The only significant exception in the local reward list is the “Like a Warrior” achievement. It requires earning 165 of 200 Resonance Points in a single run, as these points are simply reset when restarting episodes through the chapter select menu. However, the turtle has nothing to do with this system: it doesn’t award Resonance Points and isn’t used in any way to level up the skill trees.
Missing “Sea You Later!” on your first run isn’t a reason to immediately reload your save or replay the entire level. Simply check the collectibles menu, ensure the checkbox isn’t checked, and then safely claim the achievement through Chapter Select after the end credits.
