A page for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 (ID tt39369720) has appeared in the IMDb database, currently listing its status as “In Production.” This discovery was made by X (formerly Twitter) user SpiderManCD, after which the news spread across gaming media outlets. The project listing identifies Bryan Intihar and Ryan Smith as directors—the same duo who worked on the second installment. According to the entry, Yuri Lowenthal is returning to the role of Peter Parker. However, there is no release date, platform information, or even official confirmation of development; neither Insomniac Games nor Sony has issued a statement yet.

An IMDb listing is neither an official announcement nor a guarantee. The database is user-edited, and placeholder pages are common practice. According to the IMDb entry, the last official update was dated January 2026. Yet, the fact that the game is listed as “in production” rather than “pre-production” hints that the project might be further along than it seems.

The timing also lends some credence to the rumors. Marvel’s Wolverine is set for release on September 15, exclusively on PS5. Immediately following that launch, Insomniac will likely shift focus to its next major project—and Spider-Man 3 is the most logical candidate. Previous installments were released in September 2018 and October 2023. If Insomniac maintains a three-year cycle, the third game could arrive in the fall of 2027. There is a caveat, however: older leaks suggested the studio planned a Venom spin-off after Wolverine, with Spider-Man 3 coming only after that. If the Venom title remains on the schedule, the release of Spider-Man 3 could be pushed to 2028. That said, insiders claim that Marvel’s Venom has not been cancelled and is slated for a 2027 release. The IMDb listing makes no mention of a PC version—and that is almost certainly no accident. Sony consistently limits the release of its first-party titles on other platforms, and Wolverine has already been confirmed as a PS5 exclusive. By all indications, Spider-Man 3 is headed for the same fate.

As for the plot and new features, there is no official information yet. Rumors suggest the game might feature Silk (Cindy Moon), who made a brief appearance in the Spider-Man 2 post-credits scene. The Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus are cited as the likely main antagonists. Unofficially, the project’s budget could exceed $200 million.

For now, this is all merely circumstantial evidence. The IMDb page remains public, but there has been no official confirmation. We await an announcement from Insomniac or Sony—most likely following the release of Wolverine.
