Giants Software has released the long-awaited patch 1.21 for Farming Simulator 25. This major update will arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on July 28, 2026. The developers haven’t simply fixed bugs in the base game, but have also significantly optimized the game’s technical aspects, eliminating system crashes when loading mods and updating eight major DLCs at once. However, the patch is being rolled out in stages, which may cause cross-play issues between platforms until all clients have updated to the latest build.

What’s fixed in patch 1.21 for Farming Simulator 25?
The developers have conducted a thorough review of community complaints, addressing both the core economy and modding tools. Key changes include:
Mods and consoles: A critical error on Xbox Series X/S that was preventing downloads of major fan projects has been completely fixed. Background mod loading during a game session now works without crashes.
-
Gameplay and Physics: Onions can finally be placed on vegetable trays. The wheel physics model no longer glitches—vehicles can now climb over curbs without sinking under the map, and the tires themselves no longer clip through textures.
-
Hardware Support: Key bindings and presets for specialized Moza Farming Control System controllers have been significantly improved.
-
Modding Tools: New XML documentation has been added to the SDK folder, and the correct reading of motion paths from the modDesc.xml file has been corrected.
The patch also contains compatibility patches for 8 expansions, ensuring the add-on package runs smoothly:
-
Mercedes-Benz Trucks Pack — version 1.3.0.0
-
Emergency Pack — version 1.0.1.0
-
Highlands Fishing Pack — version 1.4.0.0

Vredo Pack — version 1.2.0.0

Precision Farming — version 1.1.0.0
Why is the game lagging after installing patch 1.21?
Many virtual farmers immediately begin experiencing sudden freezes and microstutters after the update. Don’t panic: the game recompiles shaders in the background when you first launch it. The issue is especially noticeable on PCs with non-standard graphics settings or a large number of installed mods.
To quickly improve performance and eliminate lag, follow these three steps:
-
Give the game 5-10 minutes: stay in the menu or on an empty map to allow the graphics engine to complete background compilation.
-
If stuttering persists, close FS25 and manually clear the contents of the shader_cache folder (located in the game’s documents directory).
-
Temporarily disable third-party mods to prevent outdated scripts from conflicting with version 1.21.
You can check whether the patch has been installed successfully directly in the lower-right corner of the main menu—the version number 1.21 should be displayed there.
As a reminder, Farming Simulator 25 was released on November 12, 2024, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and was also released on the Nintendo Switch 2 platform on December 9, 2025.
