Instead of relying on heavy swords or spells, Crimson Desert users have begun employing a far more unexpected tactic: insect attacks. Dozens of bees collected while exploring the open world can be stored in your inventory and then released one at a time into the fray.

User TheRealZephryss demonstrated this method in a video published on X. Each individual bee deals small but consistent damage to an enemy. If you accumulate a large enough swarm and release it simultaneously in an enemy’s lair, the effect becomes truly powerful.

How does the bee strategy work in Crimson Desert?

The concept is extremely simple: collect bumblebees while exploring the world, keep them in your inventory, and release them during combat. The insects will begin attacking nearby enemies, including bosses. While they’re weak individually, dozens of them become a powerful weapon of destruction.

The developers at Pearl Abyss, by the way, have also envisioned a more “civilized” beekeeper path. The game features a “Hive” club, which simplifies insect collection and even provides a special suit. But fans still love the artisanal approach: releasing dozens of individual bees by hand feels chaotic, amusing, and epic all at once.

The Sandbox Is in Full Swarm

This innovation is further proof of the depth of the mechanics in Pearl Abyss’s new project. Crimson Desert is marketed as a “combat sandbox,” and examples like these only confirm that players can truly solve problems however they choose—even if that means gathering a swarm of buzzing insects.
