The Battlefield 6 developers caused quite a stir among fans. A long-awaited XP token reform suddenly surfaced on the official BattlefieldComms account on X (formerly Twitter), but was immediately deleted. The developers later stated that the in-game notification about the XP Boost change was leaked purely “by mistake.” Unfortunately, no updates to the mechanics are planned for the near future. However, the inside information seemed extremely intriguing—the industry portal CharlieIntel managed to notice on X that boosters were intended to be tied exclusively to actual playtime, not real-world time.

False Alarm and Real Changes in Patch 1.3.3.0 for Battlefield 6

The hype arose due to a pressing issue among gamers. In most modern shooters, including Call of Duty, the token timer ticks relentlessly even when you’re simply sitting in the menu or waiting for a match to load. The innovation was intended to free players from having to sweat every second to save bonuses. Rumor has it that the booster menu was moved directly to the lobby, and the multiplier itself would be calculated as a percentage of the total session time. A cool idea, but one that’s been shelved for now.

However, it’s too early to get upset. The major patch, version 1.3.3.0, will still hit Battlefield 6 on June 30th. While dog tags will remain the same for now, the developers will roll out a comprehensive overhaul of key mechanics. Fans should prepare for significant changes to gunplay: the developers promise a complete overhaul of weapon recoil, a tweak to the time-to-kill (TTK), and a significant recalculation of incoming damage to limbs. It looks like the meta is about to change dramatically.
