Battlefield Studios has officially confirmed that Season 4 of Battlefield 6, titled “Naval Warfare,” will launch on July 21, 2026. Alongside the announcement, the developers released a gameplay trailer showcasing what to expect from the update. The season will establish naval combat as a core game mechanic, integrating battles across water, air, and land.

Tsuru Reef: The Largest Map in Battlefield 6 History
The season’s headline addition is the Tsuru Reef map, set off the coast of southern Japan. The developers describe it as the largest battlefield in Battlefield 6 to date. Tsuru Reef is even larger than “Railway to Golmud” from Season 3—which was itself nearly four times the size of “Mirak Valley.”
The map features islands, open waters, and beaches suitable for amphibious landings. The location supports boats, aircraft, armored vehicles, and infantry maneuvers. A key feature is the dynamic wave system, which impacts gameplay and offers tactical advantages. Aircraft carriers with functional flight decks will also be present.
New Vehicles: RCB-90 and NSW RHIB
Two types of watercraft have been prepared for naval operations. The RCB-90 is a patrol boat equipped with a cannon, twin heavy mortars, and guided torpedoes; it can also deploy naval mines and serve as a spawn point. The NSW RHIB is a seven-meter high-speed inflatable boat designed for rapid transport between objectives and coastal landings.
Four New Weapons
The arsenal is expanding with four new weapons. Among them is the Interdictor long-range sniper rifle. According to dataminers, the season will also introduce the EF88 Assault Rifle, BREN 3 Carbine, and VSSM DMR. The developers have not yet revealed the full list. The Return of Wake Island
Towards the end of the season, the iconic Wake Island map will return to the game. This legendary map makes its eleventh appearance in the series, dating all the way back to Battlefield 1942. The developers have reimagined it to suit the scale, systems, and modern setting of Battlefield 6 while preserving the spirit of the original. An exact release date for the remake has not yet been announced.
REDSEC and Ranked Mode
The update also affects the REDSEC battle royale mode. Season 4 introduces a new ranked season featuring exclusive rewards. Ranked matchmaking was previously added to REDSEC, and the mode is now becoming even more competitive.
Technical Improvements and Patch
A patch containing optimizations and fixes will launch alongside Naval Warfare. The developers are continuing to refine the gunplay mechanics and netcode. Proximity chat—short-range voice communication—and a server browser with persistent servers have also been added to the game.
Battlefield 6 Season 4 launches on July 21, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
