Developers Koei Tecmo and Omega Force officially unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Attack on Titan 3. The game is scheduled for release in winter 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The trailer showcased the reworked ODM equipment system, battles against the Nine Titans, and the new “Wall Exterior Scouting” mode. The opening cutscene, created by MAPPA, will not appear on release day but as a free update later. There will be no official Russian translation. Let’s break down the key details.

What the gameplay trailer showed: battles against the Nine Titans and reworked ODM equipment

The Nine Titans are the first bosses in the series’ history

For the first time in the Attack on Titan series, players will encounter all Nine Titans—from the Armored Titan to the Ancestor. Each Titan has unique attacks and behavior: the Colossal Titan burns an area with steam, while the Jaw Titan breaks through defenses with lightning-fast dashes. The developers confirmed that encounters with them will be full-fledged boss fights, not story-driven cutscenes.

ODM Gear has become faster and smoother

The movement system for ODM gear has been redesigned. Acceleration and direction changes occur almost without inertia. New moves have been added: a downward dash with a punch, intercepting an enemy mid-flight, and combo attacks when combined with teammates. According to Omega Force, this is “the fastest action combat system in years.”

Create Your Own Survey Corps Soldier

Attack on Titan 3 introduces deep protagonist customization for the first time. The player creates a character from scratch, choosing their appearance, voice, fighting style, and specialization. The created hero participates in all story missions, and their dialogue changes depending on the chosen traits. The developers promise this will affect the ending.

Release date, platforms, and screening at Anime Expo 2026

Release Winter 2026 — all platforms

The official release window is Winter 2026. A precise date has not been announced. The game will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam). Pre-orders are open in digital stores, with standard and deluxe editions available, each with bonus gear and a soundtrack.

A MAPPA-designed opening sequence will appear after release.

The opening animation is being created by MAPPA (directed by Arifumi Imai, who has worked on iconic anime sequences). However, it will not be included on the final disc. Koei Tecmo will release it as a separate, free patch within the first month of release. This was confirmed in the official press release.
