Star Wars: The Old Republic has released update 7.9.1b. The patch focuses on fixes rather than a new story chapter, with changes spread across missions, items, PvP and dynamic encounters.

Several fixes remove situations where a player could lose progress or see the wrong result. Others correct visual problems that did not stop play but made armour, effects or characters appear incorrectly. Players can retry affected objectives after the patch.

Update 7.9.1b fixes several Legacy Reborn missions

Rass Ordo’s Basilisk Droid abilities now display their intended visual and sound effects during the fight against Naga Sadow’s Monstrosity. Players can read the action more clearly when an effect matches the ability being used. The Hidden Fortress mission now places a defeated player closer to the point of death. Before the fix, the character could return at the start and repeat a long section of the siege.

The update also removes a case where T7-01 could appear twice when the security grid was disabled.

The second copy was not part of the mission and could make the scene difficult to follow.

Players can access older story missions again

Players in the introduction to Rise of the Hutt Cartel can now accept the correct Makeb mission from the terminal on their personal ship. Both the Imperial and Republic story paths are covered by the fix. An Iokath problem could prevent the companion from being summoned again after the sentinels were defeated. Update 7.9.1b restores the companion in that situation.

These changes matter because they protect story continuity. A player should not need to leave a chapter, reset progress or search for an unofficial workaround after completing the required fight.

Update 7.9.1b fixes item binding and appearance

The young gladiopod pet is now bound to Legacy. This allows the item to follow the account rules intended for that reward instead of remaining limited by the wrong binding state. PAL-IV prosthetic forearms now show the correct texture after an oiled bronze dye is applied.

The same update corrects PvP rewards and several interface issues.

Four armour sets also received a fix for cloth that could stretch beyond the intended model.

The cold dark blue and deep yellow dye module now colours equipment in the listed blue and yellow combination. The result should match both the item name and the preview.

PvP purchases and dynamic encounters work again

A PvP problem stopped some players from buying reward progress levels with Cartel Coins. The update restores that purchase option. During the Buried Secrets encounter on Coruscant, non-player characters now return to their original positions when a player leaves the event area. This prevents later participants from finding the encounter in an incorrect state.

Mariyk’s appearance in the Understaffed encounter has been updated to match the spoken dialogue. The change keeps the character model consistent with the story being told.

Area Main correction
Legacy Reborn Effects, respawn and duplicate character fixes
Items Binding, dye and material corrections
PvP Reward progress purchases restored
Dantooine Direct travel and event progress fixed

Dantooine travel and event progress are clearer

Guild flagships can now travel directly to the Dantooine crash site. Groups no longer need an indirect route when they want to begin content in that area. Sporefall transition events now continue when a companion lands the final hit on the boss. The event previously could fail to recognise that the required enemy had been defeated.

This is a small rule change with a large practical effect. Companion damage is part of normal combat, so the mission should accept the result regardless of which member of the group performs the last attack.

Players should check affected missions before a reset

Players should test the repaired mission step before resetting progress. Many blocked objectives now continue normally after update 7.9.1b.
