Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has brought back the Feast of Grimnir for a limited run until 6 September. Players can enter Karak Dal through the Weekly Event section of the Adventure map and hunt trolls with their group.

Patch 6.12.0 also changes the Troll Chief and fixes several crashes and ability problems. Repeatable event quests provide shillings and chests, while earlier event rewards return to Lohner’s Emporium. A balanced group can repeat the event safely.

Karak Dal is available in the Weekly Event menu

The event mission is not selected from the normal campaign menu. Players must open the Adventure map and choose the Weekly Event mode before launching the Feast of Grimnir. The mission centres on troll fights and the route through Karak Dal. A group should bring both strong single-target damage and a way to control ordinary enemies that arrive around the larger target.

Entering with four damage-focused builds can leave the team without space.

One player who can stagger a group or protect a narrow route may create more damage time for everyone else.

Repeatable quests provide more event rewards

Okri’s Book contains event quests that can be completed more than once. Their rewards include shillings and chests, so a completed mission can support another run instead of ending the event path. Players should check the exact quest condition before entering. A general mission completion, a troll requirement and a difficulty condition can ask for different plans.

Progress is easier when the group agrees on the objective in advance. Finishing the map quickly does not help if the selected route ignores the action required by the quest.

Earlier cosmetic rewards return to the shop

Lohner’s Emporium of Wonders offers previous Feast of Grimnir rewards for shillings during the event. This gives players who missed an earlier run another way to obtain them. The shop period is limited, so a player saving for one item should compare its price with the shillings available from repeatable quests. Spending on a smaller item first can delay the main target.

Update 6.12.0 also includes balance and stability changes.

These rewards change appearance rather than combat strength. A new frame or cosmetic does not replace the need for suitable equipment and talents in Karak Dal.

The Troll Chief is stronger at the highest difficulty

The Troll Chief uses Lord damage reduction instead of the standard Boss value. Its maximum health was lowered to account for that change, but the complete encounter should feel more demanding. On Cataclysm 3, the chief’s health rises by about fifteen percent. The portrait frame and phase information have also been updated so the boss state is easier to follow.

Teams should save important abilities for a phase where the chief can be damaged safely. Using every resource at the start may leave the group exposed when another enemy wave enters.

Event element Current rule
Event end 6 September
Mission entry Weekly Event on the Adventure map
Quest rewards Shillings and chests
Cataclysm 3 chief About fifteen percent more health

Crash fixes improve stability in rare situations

The patch fixes a crash caused when firewall software blocks a connection to Twitch servers. It also removes a crash linked to a Necromancer sacrificing a skeleton that had already died on the host. Another fix prevents the same skeleton from being sacrificed several times under high latency. The update also repairs a Monday-only crash in the Weekly Expedition view and a crash near seasonal changes in the Keep.

Players on an older game version should update before joining a group. The patch addresses a crash that could happen when the backend sent a reward to an outdated client.

Small fixes improve normal play outside the event

Skittergate no longer gives unintended invincibility, and Kerillian’s Longbow illusions now use the correct glow. Several equipment labels also received missing translations.

These fixes improve normal sessions while the event gives groups a reason to return to Karak Dal.
