The Ascended Hunt event is active in Apex Legends from 18 August to 8 September. The event changes matches in the Wildcard game mode by giving every player a bonus that becomes stronger as more EVO is collected.
Players choose an EVO bonus at the start. The available paths improve hip-fire accuracy, critical-hit chance, shield recovery, health recovery after damage, climbing over obstacles or sliding. More bonus slots open during a match, so a surviving squad can combine several effects before the final circle.

Players choose one bonus at the start
A player who selects better hip-fire accuracy can fight more confidently at short range. This does not remove the need to aim, but it makes firing while moving more accurate. The critical-hit bonus is useful for players who aim accurately. Shield recovery and health recovery after damage support survival. They can help a player remain active after taking damage, although neither option replaces cover. A squad that stays in the open can still lose before an improved recovery effect has time to work.
Players who know the map can use movement bonuses well. A longer slide or faster movement over an obstacle can create an escape route that an opponent cannot copy. The best choice therefore depends on the legend, weapon range and planned position.
Players earn more bonus slots by collecting EVO
The bonuses grow through EVO, which gives squads another reason to remain active. A team can seek fights to improve its bonuses, but an early loss removes all future value. Controlled attacks and carefully chosen eliminations are more useful than a reckless chase.
More bonus slots become available later in the match. This allows a player to combine offence, defence and movement instead of relying on one effect. The order still matters because the first bonus must help the squad reach the later stage.

Teams should discuss their choices before leaving the first area. Three identical bonuses may create one strong advantage, but a balanced set can answer more situations. Clear roles also prevent teammates from competing for the same position.
| Bonus category | Effect during a match |
|---|---|
| Hip-fire accuracy | More accurate shots when firing without aiming |
| Critical hits | Higher chance of a critical hit |
| Shield recovery | Faster shield recovery |
| Health recovery | More health restored after damage |
| Movement speed | Faster climbing or a longer slide |
Each map rewards a different approach
Ascended Hunt uses Kings Canyon, E-District and Broken Moon for matches in the Wildcard game mode. Kings Canyon offers familiar narrow routes and quick changes in height. E-District has more cover between buildings, while Broken Moon has longer distances between safe areas. A movement bonus has a different use on each map. A player can slide farther on open slopes. Faster movement over obstacles can help a player attack from another side of a building. Players should adapt their bonuses to each map.
The final ring also changes the choice. A health or shield bonus can help during a long fight, but a movement bonus may decide who reaches the last safe position first. Teams should choose an escape path before the ring closes.

Players can also earn cosmetic rewards
The event includes the Ascended Hunt collection and a reward shop. Players earn Marks and can exchange them for items such as an Epic Mad Maggie skin, a banner frame and event packs. The collection also includes themed items for several legends and weapons. Gibraltar receives the Apex Bruddah Prestige Skin. Cosmetic rewards do not change combat statistics, so the main gameplay feature remains the Wildcard bonus system.
Players who want the rewards should check the available tasks before the event ends. Squads interested in the new rules still have time to test several sets of bonuses across all three maps.
Players should check the event rules before choosing items
Matches in the Wildcard mode reward quick decisions, but the event rules can change which weapons and legends are reliable. A familiar item may lose value when the target or available rewards change. Testing one adjustment at a time makes the effect easier to understand.
The reward track also gives players a reason to plan shorter sessions. Completing the listed challenges is more efficient than repeating matches without checking progress. The event is temporary, so players should earn the rewards they want without repeating the same route in every match.
