Respawn Entertainment decided to seriously do something new for Apex Legends in 2026 — the studio released an information roadmap that fans should prepare for the real chaos of the events.

Interestingly, the developers decided to alternate the release of content: new legends will break into the game only in seasons 29 and 32. In between, the authors will focus on rebalancing the old characters so that they don’t gather dust in the corner. But the coolest thing was saved for last — in season 32 we are waiting for a complete deconstruction of the class system, which, by the way, will change the very essence of team interaction.

Joker mode and the Edge of the World map update in Apex Legends

Regarding the events, Respawn, in general, decided not to be petty. The “Joker” mode will now become a regular guest of every season, and starting on the 30th, activity will double, so you definitely won’t have to get bored between splits.

  • Nostalgia as the main trigger — the developers plan to bring back items that will make veterans cry.
  • “Edge of the World” will receive a separate competitive update — esports players get ready.
  • The balance of shelters on the maps will be revised — it will become more difficult to sit in the bushes as you go.

The date of termination of support for Apex Legends on the Nintendo Switch

However, there is also a fly in the ointment for those who are used to playing on the go. The corporation has officially confirmed that support for Apex Legends on the Nintendo Switch is being discontinued. Season 29 will be the final chord for this platform.

As early as August 4, 2026, just in time for the start of season 30, the owners of the first—generation console from Nintendo will be left out – the game will simply stop running. The decision, to be honest, is logical, because the technical component of the project requires more powerful hardware, and the “old lady” Switch is clearly not pulling such a scale. In general, Respawn is betting on the future, cutting off excess for the sake of overall progress — tough, but fair, you must agree.
