Uranus has long been one of the most popular offline selections in almost any meta. This hero knows how to hold the line perfectly: his regeneration is amazing, and his high basic stats allow him to withstand tons of damage. For the opponents on the line, it becomes a real nightmare, because it is extremely difficult to break through it. But Uranus’ power is not limited to just dominating the line. In team battles, it acts as a full-fledged tank: it hinders enemies, knocks down attacks and protects allies. Many players are still choosing an aggressive style for him, so that he causes significant damage in addition to his role as a “human shield”. Due to its control and survivability, Uranus turns into a formidable force on teamfights, capable of pinning down rivals and not falling on its own.

But how do you deal with this stubborn offline? The most obvious answer is Esmeralda. She was literally created to break his defenses: her ability to absorb Uranus’ shield makes him much more vulnerable. Without a shield, the hero loses a significant part of his vitality and stamina. However, Esmeralda is not the only counterpick. There are other characters who can cause him serious problems, especially on the line. High burst damage, percentage health damage, or reliable recovery are all weapons against Uranus. The main thing here is competent positioning, skillful use of skills and understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of this tank magician.

Table of Contents

Silvanna

Silvanna is an unusual hero who combines a fighter and a magician, and this is what makes her a formidable opponent for Uranus. Her skill Spiral Strangling delivers a series of punches that quickly reduce his impressive health reserve. Moreover, this is not an auto-attack, but an ability that allows you to safely crush Uranus from a distance, preventing his melee attacks. But Silvanna is not just about the damage. Her fast-paced gameplay and mobility allow her to kite Uranus, escape from protracted skirmishes and at the same time consistently inflict damage. And her own survival rate makes her a confident fighter even in long shifts.

This set of qualities allows Silvanna to confidently respond to Uranus’ aggression, and in team battles, isolate him altogether. Her ultimate Fury of the Blademaster is perfect for catching one enemy and literally taking them out of the game. A coordinated team with Sylvanna could deprive Uranus of a chance to fully participate in the fight. However, it also has weaknesses: the emphasis on burst damage makes it difficult to deal with more stable tanks, and the lack of early frags or a shortage of pharma allows Uranus to realize its leitm potential. But with a competent peak and performance, Silvanna is quite capable of becoming his counter peak.

Lunox

Interestingly, in recent seasons, more and more pro players have started trying Lunox offline. Although she is a classic magician in her role, her abilities in the early game make her a dangerous opponent even for such a staunch hero as Uranus. Already at the first level, Lunox is able to seriously lose it due to Starlight Pulse and Chaos Assault. And by including Cosmic Fission and Brilliance, she gets a powerful advantage in the exchanges. Lunox’s aggressive style forces Uranus to play more cautiously and give up the initiative, which opens the way for her to make a fast snowball.

Of course, she also has vulnerabilities. Lunox relies on skill damage, and if Uranus survives her first attacks, his regeneration and late potential will turn the match around. But experienced players can turn it into a real headache for Uranus. It is also dangerous in teamfights: the ability to quickly break through the frontline and focus targets makes it valuable against such “live tanks”. The flexibility in assembling items gives Lunox even more room to adapt — you can enhance burst or go into a prolonged DPS, depending on which is more effective against Uranus.

However, the success of Lunox against him is always not only personal skill, but also the overall balance of power in the teams. If Uranus’ allies can cover for him, it will be much more difficult for her to realize. But with proper play and support, Lunox is quite capable of crushing him both on the line and in team battles.

Karrie

An unexpected but working option is Curry on a sideline. The metagame has already allowed shooters like Wanwan lately, and Curry is no worse. Her passive Light Wheel Mark deals true health percentage damage, which turns her into the perfect tank killer. This is critical for Uranus: no matter how much hp it gains, Curry is able to consistently “burn through” it.

If you let her farm in peace, then by midgame Uranus will be experiencing serious problems. Of course, playing as a shooter on the line requires caution: you need to keep your distance, clearly feel the moments to enter the exchange and be prepared for pressure. But that’s exactly what’s interesting about choosing Curry. She breaks the usual pattern, forces Uranus to adjust and changes the dynamics of battles.

Her ranged attacks allow her to constantly strain Uranus, forcing him to act more cautiously. And if Curry hits her key subjects, she becomes a serious threat even in team battles, where she can quickly cut off Uranus’ health and prevent him from fully fronting. Yes, he has the tools for control and pressure, and a careless Curry risks falling under them. But with proper pharma and the support of the team, she turns into a real “tankboy” whom Uranus simply cannot ignore.

As a result, the confrontation between Curry and Uranus becomes a game on a fine line: whoever uses his strengths better gets the advantage. And it is precisely such non-standard solutions that make the meta of MOBA games lively and unpredictable.

Which of the following strategies do you think has the most potential for success in the current MOBA meta?
