GTA 6: what leaks reveal, why Take Two is blocking them, and what to expect next - Image 1

Take Two Interactive staged a spectacular social media raid – in just a few hours, dozens of videos featuring unfinished GTA 6 gameplay were DMCA-blocked. The publisher rarely displays such zeal for outright fakes, but this one offers almost definitive proof: the leaked footage is real. Rockstar is keeping quiet for now, but fragments of the unfinished build are already appearing online – choppy, with unfinished animations, making them even more intriguing.

These videos feature more than just the standard set of features (world exploration, a six-level wanted level, and a couple of side activities). Attentive viewers spotted the car refueling mechanics, stamina, and expanded functionality of the in-game phone. In one video, Jason throws a ball into a hoop near an oceanfront mansion – the shot is so clumsily animated that many initially mistook it for an AI-powered fake. However, Take Two’s subsequent blocking defies all doubt.

Insider Gaming, however, reminds us that closed previews for journalists have already begun, but the quality of the leaked videos is too low for official materials. The leak likely originated not from the press event, but from a tester or contractor. The leak is accompanied by a strange cryptocurrency link and a call to visit a suspicious website for an “exclusive.” This “bait” should simply be ignored—it’s clearly not content, but a trap.

According to unconfirmed reports, the insider posted the videos in protest against the digital release of GTA 6, scheduled for November 19th. They claim Rockstar has been starving fans of information for too long, and they’re already starving for live footage. However, there’s no official gameplay reveal yet—the only announcement is an “extended look” at the game as part of a Netflix show on August 27th.

What does this mean for Rockstar’s marketing? A rigorous social media purge confirms that the leaked footage is not fake, meaning the studio is losing control of the narrative. On the one hand, such leaks fuel interest—one can assume the hype will only increase. On the other hand, they steal the impact of the first official trailer, which Rockstar likely intended as a surprise. But November is almost here, and it looks like we’re in for more than just another video, but a wealth of details, unless Take Two shuts down official channels as well.

For now, gamers are wondering: is the leaked build an early version or the final “golden” build? There’s no answer, but one thing is clear: the GTA 6 story is growing ever more complex, and every passing day could bring a reshuffle in the information war between fans and the publisher.
