Developers miHoYo have officially announced the release date for patch 4.5 for Honkai: Star Rail. The release is set for August 26th, adding two new 5-star characters, fresh events, and several collaborations.

Rumor is currently circulating that this update could be one of the most action-packed of the year. The story will take us to Astropolis, the main fortress of the Interstellar Peace Corporation, where the Pathfinder will not only have to save Planarcadia from the Devourer but also go on a summer vacation with Robin and Aventurine. In short, we can expect a mix of drama, corporate intrigue, and beach fun. Here’s a quick summary: the update will be released on August 26th on PS5, PC, iOS, and Android. The first phase will feature Robin • Summeretto and Hyacinth’s reprise, while the second phase will feature Aventurine • Waveflare and Ashvale. Plus promo codes for 300 Star Jade, races, mini-challenges, and a winter crossover with ZZZ.

But first things first.

What we know about update 4.5 of Honkai: Star Rail

After defeating the Ravager Lord Asat Pramad, the Devourer officially makes his presence known—and Planarcadia is once again in grave danger. The Pioneer seeks aid in Astropolis, which is both the business hub of the MMK and a favorite resort for the interstellar elite. Soon, we’ll have to navigate the corporation’s complex leadership hierarchy to extract the key force for the survival of the entire world. And yes, this all takes place during a vacation—the developers clearly decided to combine business with pleasure.

Judging by the official press release and the special program from August 14, the story arc will be quite extensive and will involve not only familiar characters but also new ones. Moreover, dialogues in story missions can now be sped up—a small but welcome addition for those who enjoy replaying chapters.

New characters in version 4.5—Robin • Summeretto and Aventurine • Waveflare

The biggest highlight of the update are two limited 5-star heroes. Both are tied to new Paths and elements, so the metagame is sure to shake up.

Robin Summeretto Aventurine Waveflare 4.5

Robin • Summeretto — Wind, Path of Memories

After Sunday’s departure from Penakonia, Robin led the Oak Family. In the new version, she doesn’t just perform—she has a secret mission: to investigate the “legacy” of Gopher Wood. In battle, Robin takes the stage with her bird orchestra, and her mechanics are built on accumulating Vibes. The more often her allies act, the more powerful the buffs. Her ultimate allows the targeted ally to immediately act and restore energy—a flexibility that surpasses standard support skills. Incidentally, she’ll be releasing a new single, “Only by Chasing the Wind,” as part of the update—we’re looking forward to the music video.

Aventurine • Waveflare — Quantum, Path of Fury

Despite her vacation, Aventurine continues to plot. He suspects a traitor among the Ten Stone Hearts and is testing his suspicions with old connections. Like an avid surfer, he attacks enemies with a beach ball or waves—a feat that’s both comical and effective. His abilities build Punchline and Fervor: at a certain Fervor level, he instantly launches an additional Fury skill at all enemies, and during the next Ahi Moment, this skill is empowered. This is very similar to how “bonus” attacks worked in previous patches, but here, everything is tied to the tempo of the battle.

Banner Schedule 4.5 – Phase Dates and 4★ Characters

Banners are divided into two phases, which is important for planning their rollout.

Phase One (starting August 26th):

  • Limited 5★ – Robin • Summeretto (Wind, Memory)
  • Repeat 5★ – Hyacinth
  • 4★ characters: Dan Heng (Hunt, Wind), Qingque (Erudition, Quantum), Gallagher (Abundance, Fire)
  • Light Cone: Limited “Rise and Sing” + 4★ “A Little Getaway”

Phase Two (starting September 12th):

  • Limited 5★ – Aventurine • Waveflare (Quantum, Fury)
  • Repeat 5★ – Ashvale
  • 4★ characters have not yet been announced, but rumors suggest they will be the same as in Phase One, just with a different lineup—stay tuned for more information.
  • Light Cone: Limited “Summer Rides the Surf”

Please note that the second phase starts on September 12th—roughly two weeks after the patch’s release. So, soon after the release, you’ll be able to spin two interesting characters at once if you accumulate enough Star Jade.

Patch 4.5 Events and New Features

Besides characters, the patch brings a bunch of activities:

  • “Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix”—a race where the Pathfinder acts as a team leader. Sounds like a cross between karting minigames and strategic management.
  • “Minuscule Great Adventure”—a relaxing challenge, likely for those tired of the main story.
  • Divergent Universe updates—new levels and rewards.
  • Double drops in “Planar Fissure” and “Realm of the Strange”—a great opportunity to level up your artifacts.
  • The new “Aw, Look Up Here” headwear is a cosmetic item for those who collect all the accessories.

And most importantly, quality of life: starting in version 4.5, dialogues in story missions can be sped up. Yes, this doesn’t eliminate the need for reading, but it saves time when replaying.

Honkai Star Rail 4.5 Promo Codes – 300 Star Jade

Let’s get straight to the point: during a special program, the developers gave out three promo codes, each giving 100 Star Jade plus resources. Here they are:

  • 2TKRKAR6YG2X
  • LSJ9JARPZH33
  • YAJQ2TR6ZY2P

Important: the codes are valid until August 15th at 6:59 PM Moscow time. You can redeem them in-game or on the official website via the “Code Exchange” section. Hurry before the deadline expires—otherwise, missing out on a chance to earn some free jade would be a shame. By the way, this isn’t the only source—daily logins and events await you in the game, making it easier to save up for banners.

Honkai: Star Rail — MOONDROP and Zenless Zone Zero Collaborations

Here’s where the developers have surprised us. First, there’s an official crossover with the audio brand MOONDROP—they’ll release themed headphones in the style of Spark (yes, that same Spark). The products will be released in different regions of the world, and online and offline events will be held in conjunction with them.

Second—and this is a sensation—later this year, Honkai: Star Rail will cross over with Zenless Zone Zero. Details are still scarce, but according to insiders, we’ll see characters from ZZZ in the world of HSR in winter 2026. These aren’t just “skins”—it looks like a full-fledged event with mechanics and a story. Well, let’s assume we’re in for more than just cosmetics.

That’s all for now. Honkai: Star Rail continues to surprise: a blend of a serious storyline, summer vibes, and unexpected collaborations makes 4.5 one of the most anticipated patches of the year. Just remember to activate your promo codes before August 15th to stock up on jade, and decide for yourself who to spin first: the singing Robin or the surfing Aventurine. If you have time, check out the new gameplay on the official streams. Good luck with the banners!
