There are exactly 34 Elite Golems in Beast of Reincarnation. Clearing them opens safes, yields valuable resources, and the only bronze Wandering Duelist trophy. All minibosses are marked on the map and are accessible until you switch to New Game+.

Beast of Reincarnation: All Elite Enemy and Miniboss Locations in Each Zone

If you’re aiming for 100% completion in Beast of Reincarnation, prepare for a serious hunt. By game standards, Elite Golems aren’t just tough opponents; they’re the key to the juiciest loot: rare materials, memory chips, and codes for locked chests. They also lead to the coveted Wandering Duelist achievement, which is awarded only after defeating all 34 targets. To be fair, the developers didn’t take advantage of players—free mode allows you to return to any point up until the launch of New Game+, so you won’t miss anything even if you accidentally pass by.

But it’s one thing to know, and quite another to navigate the 11 zones. We’ve organized all the points, verified the codes with official data, and added a few tricks that will save you hours of wandering.

Summary Map of Elite Golems by Region

First, the big picture. The table below shows all zones, the number of objectives, and whether they are required for the story:

Note an important detail: the “ELITE ENEMY” icon on the map marks not only golems but also Elite Malefacts. These creatures don’t count toward the trophy, so don’t waste time systematically clearing them out if you’re only after the achievement. To avoid guesswork, just talk to the Keeper Golem in any zone—he’ll highlight the golems specifically, not just any golem.

Oguchi Buffer Zone – 8 targets

Ogouchi Buffer Zone

The most densely populated region. Start in the south and move north:

  1. Disposal Site – the center of the map, just below the river. The golem stands right next to the trash heap, but there are archers on the towers above him. Take them out first, otherwise the fight will turn into hell.
  2. West – south of the same river, guarding a tent. Inside is a safe with the code 08110 (it contains a Memory Chip and some other goodies).
  3. Northeast – across the river, on the roof of a high-rise building. To avoid missing it, look for the building with the tent on top.
  4. Tailwater Entrance – just past the bridge, on a narrow cliff. There’s minimal room to maneuver – it’s best to lure the enemy out into the open.
  5. Oguchi East – north of Cliffside. Go through the train tunnel, then take the elevator up – the boss will meet you at the exit.
  6. Northern Ledge – at the very top of the map. A cave hidden behind a wall-like ledge, you need to jump into it. It’s a dead end, but inside, they’re waiting for you.
  7. Subcity 01 – a story point. It appears after defeating six golems in this area.
  8. Barrel Cave – also a mandatory step. Focus on ranged attacks: blow up the barrels to weaken the enemy and collect the Yellow Key.

Ancient Civilization Zone – 7 Targets

Ancient Civilization Zone

Here, some enemies are scattered across hidden areas:

  • #1 – platform opposite the camp on the Ruins Trail. High up, but visible from afar.
  • #2 – just past the gate you open with the lever near the camp.
  • #3 – flying golem above the narrow bridge on the road to Nushi. It’s hard to miss—it’s hovering right above the crossing.
  • #4–#7 — Mixed group: Lupine Malefact (level 15), Heavy Golem (13), Agile Golem (12), and Corvid Malefact (10). Look for them on the lower levels of the ruins; they often patrol open spaces.

Great Wall Terraces — 8 targets

Here you’ll find both duo encounters and dungeons:

  • #1–#2 — Two golems at the top of the southern bridge. One can be eliminated with a stealth attack if you sneak up behind them.
  • #3 — In the Labyrinth of Sin cave (southeast corner). Inside, there are destructible walls—shoot the barrels behind them to clear a path.
  • #4 — On the gravel path along the river, east bank. Catch the enemy by surprise while he’s talking to the other golem.
  • #5 — In the savannah east of the river, south of the village with the containers. A stealth attack works perfectly.
  • #6 — In the western part of the village, behind the northern bridge, on the huge stone cubes.
  • #7 — On the high tower immediately after #6. Climb the pole, then use the grappling hook.
  • #8 — Underground, in the base. After defeating him, you’ll receive the code to the safe (it’s in the table below).

Pilgrim’s Zone — 4 targets

  • #1–#2 — On the western ledge. You’ll have to cross the destroyed bridge; climb up and you’ll find both.
  • #3 — Along the story path, inside a cave — can’t miss it.
  • #4 — Just past the giant chamber to the north, right on the main road.

Matsukawa Zone — 7 targets

  • #1 — Eastern beach, surrounded by regular mobs.
  • #2 — Northern cave, the story marker will lead you directly to it.
  • #3 — Northwestern swamps. Be careful: a giant slumbers nearby and can be awakened by noise.
  • #4 — Inside the Matsukawa Cube, just inside the entrance.
  • #5 — Mausoleum room (look for doors on the cylindrical walls).
  • #6 — Prayer room with three paintings.
  • #7 — Hall of Serenity — the door is locked, but opens without a key.

Fuji Zone — 3 objectives

  • #1 — Story-related ambush, you’ll be trapped with several enemies.
  • #2 — Near the Inner Defense Outpost camp, in a dead end on the opposite side.
  • #3 — Another story-related golem in the battle arena.

Giant Tree Zone — 3 objectives

Giant Tree Zone

  • #1 — Marked by the main objective marker, gives keys.
  • #2 — on the way to Line 0, right before the tram station.
  • #3 — on a high platform above the water, near the Flooded Ruins: Center camp.

Crater Zone — a total of 9 targets

The most difficult and intense zone:

  • #1 — the northern platform between the Fortress and the large crater, surrounded by golems.
  • #2–#3 — a pair in the southwestern crater, patrolling together — use a long-range weapon.
  • #4 — the southern cave near the Hidden Cave camp, landmark — the narrow bridge.
  • #5–#7 — three Elites simultaneously in a cave in the southeast. Enter through the tent with the orange circle. The combat is close, enemies shoot from a distance — the most dangerous place in the entire game.
  • #8–#9 — the center of the eastern crater, tactics are the same as #2–#3.

Inukami River Zone – 1 target

The single golem is hiding in a cave on the northeast side of the large circular area in the north of the map. It’s easy to find—just reach this area.

Starfall Tower – 1 target

Appears in the arena immediately after obtaining the Kanzashi Blade. Killing it isn’t necessary, but it’s nearly impossible to miss—it’s huge and stands right in the way.

Capital City – 2 targets

Both are located in the boss room. Avoid spoilers—just remember that before the final confrontation, you’ll encounter two elite golems that you must defeat.

Wandering Duelist Trophy Checklist

The achievement only unlocks after defeating all 34 golems — Elite Malefacts don’t count. Track your progress so you don’t miss anything:

  • [ ] Oguchi — 8
  • [ ] Ancient Civilization — 7
  • [ ] Great Wall — 8
  • [ ] Pilgrim — 4
  • [ ] Matsukawa — 7
  • [ ] Fuji — 3
  • [ ] Giant Tree — 3
  • [ ] Crater — 9
  • [ ] Inukami River — 1
  • [ ] Starfall Tower — 1
  • [ ] Capital City — 2

Important clarification: after patch 1.02, the developers fixed a bug with the display of elite icons, so now all objectives are clearly visible on the map if you get close enough. And one more thing – if you’ve already beaten the final boss, don’t worry: free roam is still active, so you can finish off the missing golems at any time, even after the credits.
