Dynamic Cover and Parkour: How Character Movement Has Changed

The main innovation in the movement mechanics for Marcus Fenix ​and Dominic Santiago is the removal of the rigid locking to level geometry before jumping over obstacles. Impulsive trigger pulls no longer work due to high recoil and noticeable reticle sway. Firing in short bursts has become the player’s primary discipline.

At the same time, the Locust Horde’s bestiary has evolved. Enemy AI has learned to apply heavy fire and coordinate flanking maneuvers, while underground monsters have acquired fresh attack patterns that change the tempo of combat in a split second.

In E-Day, the developers have implemented the concept of deliberate movement. Cover bounces are now limited to a minimum of 1.5 meters from the surface. If a player attempts to cancel before this threshold, the character either continues moving toward the wall or loses momentum. This decision will bring the competitive segment back to pure discipline, tactical map control and teamwork.
