Game Freak has officially announced and launched a pre-download for the action game Beast of Reincarnation. The project will release on August 4, 2026, at 2:00 AM Moscow time on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game will be available on PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate on day one, but the PC system requirements have left gamers somewhat perplexed: the developers guarantee a stable frame rate only with upscaling technologies enabled.

How and Where to Download Beast of Reincarnation in Advance

The company’s servers have already opened access to the files so that players can download the distribution package in advance and avoid slow launch speeds. The pre-download feature launched on August 2 at 12:00 AM UTC on all target platforms.

To start the pre-load process, one of the following conditions must be met:

  • Pre-order any digital edition (Standard or Deluxe) from Steam, the PlayStation Store, or the Microsoft Store.
  • Have an active Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription—the game will appear in your library with a pre-install button.

The installation package is exactly 45 GB in size. Considering modern industry standards, this size seems unusually modest, but installation on an SSD drive is still unavoidable.

Beast of Reincarnation PC System Requirements

The published specifications make it clear that the developers conducted a meticulous hardware analysis, but also placed a key emphasis on image reconstruction algorithms.

Minimum Requirements 1080p 40 FPS

Component Minimum Requirements
OS Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
Processor Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
RAM 16 GB RAM
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX 580
Storage 45 GB (SSD required)
Additional FSR1 must be enabled in “Performance” mode

Recommended Requirements 1080p 60 FPS

Component Recommended Specifications
OS Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
Processor Intel Core i7-12700K / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
RAM 16 GB RAM
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 / AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
Storage 45 GB (SSD)
Additional Enable DLSS (for RTX cards) or FSR3 in “Performance” mode

Why DLSS and FSR Are Included in System Requirements

A closer look at the developers’ notes reveals an unpleasant detail: pure GPU performance without intelligent upscaling was not even considered. You will only get the claimed 40 fps at minimum settings by enabling AMD FSR1. Want 60 fps on recommended hardware like the RTX 3060? Be prepared to enable DLSS or FSR3 in the aggressive profile.

To get the gist: NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) and AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) are technologies that render images at a reduced resolution (for example, 720p), and then use algorithms and neural networks to upscale them to 1080p or 4K. This allows for a decent frame rate boost, but on mid-range graphics cards, it can result in a loss of fine detail. It appears that optimization without intelligent algorithms was incomplete.

Beast of Reincarnation Price and Pre-Order Bonuses

The developers offer two purchase options, with the digital bonuses varying significantly in value.

Platform Standard Edition Deluxe Edition Pre-order Bonuses
Steam (US / RU) $59.99 (~2800 RUB) $69.99 (~3250 RUB) Brown Ku skin + 30,000 Amber
PlayStation 5 $59.99 $69.99 Ku skin, exclusive Oni hat, Big Dipper sword, 100,000 Amber
Xbox Series X/S $59.99 / Game Pass $69.99 Full bonus set depending on version

Please pay attention to price tags in regional stores: on some platforms, due to dynamic currency conversion, the price in rubles may be displayed higher (up to 4500–5200 rubles), so it is important to check the final receipt on the payment screen before purchasing.

Game Summary and Final Verdict

Beast of Reincarnation is a clear contender for fans of challenging action games in the vein of Sekiro, set in a grim post-apocalyptic Japan in 4026. If you have a Game Pass subscription or a suitable graphics card with DLSS/FSR support, the game is definitely worth checking out. The only two caveats to keep in mind are the complete lack of Russian localization at launch and the strict tie between the stated performance and the upscaling technologies.
