The developers at Multiverse Studios have finally revealed the release date of their crazy hybrid—and it’s no joke. Pax Autocratica, already being dubbed a cross between Palworld and Helldivers 2, will launch on Steam Early Access on August 10th at 5:00 PM Moscow time. The project was originally scheduled to launch on February 2nd, but the six-month delay appears to have worked in the game’s favor—the developers have used this time to polish the mechanics and iron out any rough edges.
The launch price is $29.99, with a 10% discount for the first two weeks, so you can get it now. The free prologue is available on Steam right now—a great way to gauge your taste in this hybrid genre and see if your PC can handle this crazy mix.
What is Pax Autocratica? This is a totalitarian colony sim where you manage a settlement and delegate tasks to your subjects, like in Palworld. During combat scenes, the game switches to a first-person shooter with large-scale firefights reminiscent of Helldivers 2. The pace of the game is incredibly intense: you’re simultaneously building a base, managing resources, and engaging in dynamic battles with hordes of enemies. The game’s dynamism surpasses many similar games in the genre, and the variety of available tactics and weapons promises to keep even seasoned strategists engaged.
Pax Autocratica’s history is quite unusual. It was originally an MMO called Earth From Another Sun, announced back in 2019. However, in 2025, the studio completely reimagined the concept, renamed the game, and transformed it into a single-player/cooperative roguelike with strategy elements. Incidentally, language support is limited to English, German, French, and simplified Chinese—Russian and Polish are unavailable, but the community may add unofficial translations.
There’s also a nice bonus: the studio is donating 1% of all sales revenue to the Norwegian Refugee Council. It’s not the most obvious move for an indie project, but it adds social significance to the game.
