With the release of Palworld 1.0, the map has grown to an indecent size—the World Tree, the Sunlit Islands, and endless oceans. There’s nothing to do on foot here. Mounted paladins are a necessity, not a luxury. But which one should you choose? Jetragon is still the fastest, but his stamina only lasts for short flights. Xenolord is slower, but he flies three times longer. Hartalis is the king of the land, and Neptilius is the ruler of the seas. In this guide, we’ll break down all the top mounts in Palworld 1.0, including their numbers, locations, and the best builds. Spoiler: there’s no perfect paladin, but they’re perfectly suitable for specific tasks.

Jetragon as the fastest flying paladin in Palworld 1.0

Jetragon is the absolute fastest. No one in Palworld 1.0 flies faster. His mounted sprint speed is 3300, more than twice that of his closest rival. With passives like Legend, Swift, Runner, and Dimensional Leap, this dragon turns into a jet fighter. But there’s a price.

Jetragon has only 100-110 stamina. This means you’ll only last about ten seconds of sprinting before landing and resting. Perfect for short runs between points, but excruciating for exploring the entire map.

In patch 1.0, Jetragon received a buff: his rocket attack became more powerful, his reload time was shorter, and his stamina increased slightly. But the biggest change is his location. Previously, he was found on Volcanic Island; now he’s in the northwestern part of the Sunreach region, on the new Floating Island. He’s a Level 70 Alpha boss, so be prepared for a tough fight. The saddle unlocks at Tech Level 50 and requires 50 Carbon Fiber and 50 Refined Ingots.

Exact coordinates and location of the Jetragon boss

Летающее животное Джетрагон Палворлд

The coordinates are approximately -789, -321. Look for him in northwest Sunreach. An alternative route is through the Sky Islands. You can’t reach him without a high-level flying mount—ironic.

Best passive speed skills for Jetragon

Balanced build for Jetragon:

  • Legend — +20% attack, defense, and movement speed. Built into legendary paladins by default.
  • Swift — +30% movement speed.
  • Runner — +20%.
  • Dimensional Leap — +50%.

The latter is new in 1.0. It is obtained as implants from relics in the World Tree zone and can be installed on any paladin via the Surgery Table. Without it, the ultimate build is impossible.

Xenolord as the best flying mount for endurance

Xenolord is Jetragon’s main rival and, according to many, the best flyer for everyday travel. Its sprint speed is 2700. Yes, it’s slower. But its stamina is 300, three times greater.

What does this mean in practice? While Jetragon has already landed twice to catch his breath, Xenolord is still soaring above the ocean. It’s far more convenient for flying between islands, exploring the World Tree, and exploring new regions.

Xenolord is a raid boss. This saddle is unlocked at high levels. It has a built-in passive flight bonus of +20%. Additionally, Xenolord allows you to fire your own weapon from its back—a feature blocked by Jetragon’s built-in rocket launcher.

Jetragon vs. Xenolord Stat Comparison

Parameter Jetragon Xenolord
Sprint speed 3300 2700
Stamina 100–110 300
Tech level 50 High
Saddle shooting No (auto rockets) Yes
Best use Short bursts Long distance flights

Technically, Jetragon is faster. Practically, Xenolord is more comfortable. Many experienced players choose it.

Xenolord flying mount Palworld

Hartalis as the fastest ground mount in the game

On the ground, Hartalis is the fastest ground mount in Palworld 1.0. It’s not just fast—it’s maneuverable. Its triple jump allows it to climb steep slopes and leap across wide crevices.

Hartalis is not easy to obtain—it is summoned as a raid boss through a summoning altar. Summonable weaklings can be found in dungeons and expeditions in the Feybreak region. If you’re not yet ready for this challenge, Necromus and Paladius are worthy alternatives.

Ideal build: Legend, Swift, Runner, and Dimensional Leap.

Necromus as an alternative fast ground mount

Necromus remains one of the fastest ground mounts. Its sprint speed is 1600. Double jump while mounted is another advantage.

The built-in Legend skill already provides a 15% speed boost. Best build: Legend, Swift, Runner, and Dimensional Leap. Some players prefer Nimble over Runner, but Dimensional Leap provides more, so it’s not worth skipping.

Fun fact: one creator spent about 285 breeding attempts to create the perfect Necromus with the right passives. The result was worth it. Neptilius as the best aquatic mount for swimming

There aren’t many aquatic mounts in the game, but Neptilius is the absolute king. Its sprint speed is impressive. It swims faster than anyone and can leap high out of the water.

Neptilius can be found on a small island far to the north of the map—the Level 60 Alpha boss. If ocean travel is your primary mode of transportation, Neptilius is a must-have. Ideal passives: King of the Waves, Ace Swimmer, and Dimensional Leap.

Pantalus and Eidrolone Flying Overview

Panthalus is a giant, but he flies faster than he looks. His main advantage is his virtually infinite stamina in the air. He’s an excellent choice for leisurely traversal.

Eidrolone is a balance of speed, stamina, and utility. Unique companion skill: Speed and attack increase for each Dragon or Dark Polearm in the party. Assemble the right team, and Eidrolone will be competitive even against top-tier flyers. Sprint speed: 2750, stamina: 130.

Frostallion: 1800 speed, 300 stamina. A reliable endgame option.

Shadowbick: 1600 speed, 250 stamina. An excellent choice after the early game.
