Rebel Wolves has entered the home stretch: the main work on the vampire RPG is complete, and the team has switched to polishing and preparing the Day One patch. The release is September 3, 2026. It’s a done deal.
Over two million users have already added the game to their wishlists. For a pre-release project, that’s an impressive number. The developers aren’t just quietly finishing the build: in recent months, they’ve been actively promoting The Blood of Dawnwalker—showcasing it at Summer Game Fest, giving Western publishers access to the campaign launch, and releasing the first previews.
The project is also highly anticipated in Russia. Pre-orders are open: the base version on Steam costs 4,999 rubles, and the Eclipse Edition costs 5,719 rubles. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, both digitally and on disc. But there’s a catch: there won’t be a Russian translation. Although the description on the Steam page is in Russian.

What does the Gone Gold status mean in simple terms?
Gone Gold is a milestone after which the release can no longer be delayed. The master disc has been sent to production, and development of the main content is complete. From here on out, there will only be bug fixes and a Day One patch. This is especially important for The Blood of Dawnwalker: the project is ambitious, from the team that made The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, and fans were worried about delays. There won’t be any.
Rebel Wolves released art of the master disc in honor of the event. And IGN will be introducing players to the project throughout July, starting with a substantial portion of gameplay.

What was shown at Summer Game Fest, and what are the previews saying?
At Summer Game Fest 2026, Rebel Wolves released a trailer with a double meaning. First, the dark 14th century, plague, vampire dictators, and the protagonist, Cohen, trying to save his family. Then, scenes from modern times, where the same character is still alive. The developers have effectively hinted at a sequel. The saga is just beginning.
Previews from Western publications, including PC Gamer, emphasize that the game’s morality will be even more complex than in The Witcher series. Vampires in this world aren’t simply evil. They’ve instituted a system of blood tithing, but they’ve also introduced a strict “healthcare system”: they pay peasant donors with portions of their own blood, which cures diseases. The player must constantly choose between the lesser of two evils.

The main campaign lasts 30 in-game days. During the day, Cohen remains human, but at night, his vampiric nature awakens: the pace of combat changes, and his style becomes more aggressive. When his health is low, the hero can even “snack” on nearby NPCs—and this does not require the player’s permission. The consequences of such actions can block entire quest lines.
Why The Blood of Dawnwalker Will Be Released Without a Russian Translation
Contrary to expectations, The Blood of Dawnwalker will not receive a Russian localization. However, the game offers text translations into 13 languages, including Turkish, Czech, Hungarian, Korean, and Portuguese. Russian—the third most popular language on Steam after English and Simplified Chinese—is not included.
The publisher is Bandai Namco Entertainment, which has never abandoned Russia and continues to translate even the most niche series. However, according to sources close to the publisher, the decision came from Rebel Wolves itself. No official reasons have been given.
There are also encouraging signs. In December 2025, GameMAG reported that localization was still possible—either at the game’s release or later. However, there is no official confirmation. In any case, the game will be available in the Russian region of Steam. Russian-speaking players will likely have to rely on fan translations or play the game in English.
The Blood of Dawnwalker System Requirements: Minimum and Recommended
In June 2026, Rebel Wolves surprised PC owners with a significant system requirement reduction. The developers actively optimized the game, and the minimum requirements were significantly lower.
System Requirements

Lowering the bar to the GTX 1060 is a significant step: it’s one of the most popular graphics cards of the previous generation, still found in a huge number of systems. The RTX 4060 is now recommended, replacing the RTX 5060.
Important: Resolution and frame rate targets have not yet been revealed. The developers promise to share them closer to release, after completing the optimization cycle.
One and a half months remain. The Blood of Dawnwalker is ready. September 3rd is the final and final release. Pre-orders are now open, including in Russia.
