Alex Pereira graces the cover of UFC 6—and it’s more than just a tribute. Fans are already racking their brains trying to get their hands on him, not just in heavyweight but in other divisions as well. The good news: it’s possible, and it doesn’t require any extraordinary effort. Now let’s figure out how to unlock the legendary Brazilian in middleweight and light heavyweight, and in several different weight classes.

How to unlock Alex Pereira UFC 281 in middleweight

Let’s start with the most unconventional method. To do this, head to the “Hall of Legends” mode—three iconic fighters await you there, including Pereira. Launch the tour and enter the Hall of Fame building. Inside, in a white room, there’s a huge screen showing a highlight reel of Pereira vs. Adesanya. Next to the screen is a stand—interact with it to initiate the fight.

The objective consists of two stages. First: stay standing and land hooks. Second: finish the fight by knockout or technical knockout. The first point should not be a problem. Hold L1/LB and press any of the punch buttons (Triangle or Circle on PlayStation, Y or B on Xbox) to throw hooks at Adesanya. Landing 10 hooks is enough to complete the requirement.

Next, the finish. Knocking out Adesanya is easier if you land targeted punches to the head. Feel free to lower the difficulty if you feel your opponent is too good: “Settings” → “Gameplay” → “Difficulty” and find a comfortable level. Incidentally, this is not considered cheating; the game offers this option for a reason.

The Brazilian champion’s appearance in the simulator was a major one—the developers have prepared five versions of the fighter. This includes two divisions, iconic numbered events, and the basic version from the game’s cover. To avoid confusion, it’s easiest to navigate the summary of the requirements: which version of Poatan you need, what weight class it’s tied to, and who will be the final boss in the “Hall of Legends” mode.

UFC Fighter Skins: Unlock Guide

Fighter Skin Weight Class Unlock Method Opponent & Key Requirement
UFC 320 Light Heavyweight Division “Fighter Store” tab Free reward, claim with a single click
UFC 281 Middleweight “Hall of Legends” → White Hall Israel Adesanya — focus on hooks + mandatory finish
UFC 307 Light Heavyweight Division “Hall of Legends” → “Stream of Consciousness” Khalil Rountree Jr. — cause a cut, damage the body, then secure a finish
UFC 295 Light Heavyweight Division “Hall of Legends” → “Warriors’ Temple” Jiří Procházka — heavily damage the legs + finish the fight

The progression structure here is linear, with the exception of one nice bonus. EA Sports gives away the UFC 320 cover version without even a fight—you just go to the in-game store, activate it, and you’re ready to use it right away. But for the other three options, you’ll have to work hard in the story campaigns of the “Hall of Legends.” Moreover, there’s a strict sequence: until you take down Adesanya, the game simply will not let you progress further to Rountree and Prochazka. It turns out that the medieval skin from UFC 281 is a kind of gateway to the rest of the light heavyweight branch.

This division into weight classes is not just a whim of the game designers. Each skin is tied to a real, historical fight of Alex’s in the octagon. Below we’ll go into detail about each step and the specific requirements for unlocking them.

Pereira Light Heavyweight Skins for UFC 6

Pereira has three skins in the light heavyweight division, and the most accessible is the one featured on the cover of UFC 6, the UFC 320 version. To get it, simply go to the “Shop” tab in the main menu, open the “Fight Shop”—Alex will be first on the list. And yes, it’s completely free; you do not need to spend any in-game currency. One click, and you can step into the octagon as a light heavyweight.

We’ll cover the other two options—UFC 307 and UFC 295—a little later, but the gist is the same: they are also unlocked through special missions or conditions, which we’ll cover in Part 2. For now, grab the cover Pereira and give him a try. He’s arguably one of the best fighters in the game, and his versatility will definitely come in handy across multiple weight classes.

How to beat Khalil Rountree and get the UFC 307 skin?

After defeating Adesanya, you’ll find yourself back in the White Gym. Next to the giant screen, you’ll notice a sign for the “Flow State” gym—that’s where you should head. Interact with the big screen to launch the next fight, this time against Khalil Rountree Jr. The objectives here are completely different than in the last fight.

The objectives are as follows:

  • Cut Rountree’s skin.
  • Land 10 clean punches to the body.
  • Finish the fight via TKO or KO.

Pereira vs Khalil Rountree

Cuts are achieved with elbow strikes. Hold R2/RT and press Triangle/Y or Square/X to throw elbows at the opponent’s face, gradually drawing blood. It will not work the first time, so you’ll have to work hard. Once a cut appears, switch to the body. Body kicks (Circle/B on PlayStation or B/A on Xbox) must be clean—that is, they must land in an unprotected area. Ten such precise hits and the second target is secured.

The final chord is a knockout. As in the previous fight, aim for the head; fortunately, the cut has already weakened Rountree’s defenses, making it easier to stun him. By the way, if you feel your opponent is being too aggressive, you can slightly adjust the difficulty settings—the game allows this.

Unlocking the UFC 295 skin through the Prochazka fight

The Brazilian light heavyweight’s oldest skin is unlocked after the final fight in the “Hall of Legends.” From the “Stream of Consciousness” zone, travel to the “Warrior’s Temple”—pass the giant statue, and at the entrance to the next area, another statue with a screen will rise from the ground. This time, your opponent is Jiri Prochazka.

Pereira fighting Jiri Prochazka

Winning conditions:

  • Trigger a leg health event on Prochazka.
  • Finish by TKO or KO.

Unlike the fight with Rountree, where we focused on the head, this one focuses on the legs. Hold L2/LT and hit X or Circle (PlayStation) or A or B (Xbox)—these strikes gradually reduce the Czech’s maximum leg health. When the bar drops to a critical point, the leg health event will trigger, completing the first objective. Next comes the classic: finish off Prochazka. I strongly recommend continuing to target the legs—every knockdown opens a window for a finishing move, and when your opponent tries to get up, they’re extremely vulnerable. You can alternate this with headshots, but the main tactic is to keep them down. After a stun, getting up becomes especially difficult, and this is your chance.

Hall of Legends Mode Secrets and Other Hidden Fighters

By the way, Alex Pereira is not the only one who’s earned a personal tour. The Hall of Legends also features missions for Max Holloway and Weili Zhang. Each of them also has three additional skins, unlocked through similar challenges. So if you’re a fan of mixed martial arts, prepare for a long evening—there’s plenty of content here for a long time.
