CECC reunites with McDonald’s as main sponsor in Texas

The Collegiate Sports Management Group (CSMG) has exciting news to share—the highly anticipated return of the Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup (CECC) at Esports Stadium Arlington, Texas, with McDonald’s as the proud presenting sponsor.

This thrilling competition will bring together 84 teams, each showcasing their skills across four popular game titles: Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, and VALORANT. Prepare to witness the remarkable talent and fierce competition as scholastic esports players go head-to-head in this prestigious event.

CECC Texas will be held May 3-5

CECC Texas is gearing up for an unforgettable experience from May 3rd to May 5th, as it hosts the highly anticipated official year-end tournaments for its circuit. Adding to the excitement, the youth esports platform Vanta will be crowning the champions for middle and high schools in Texas.

Last year, CECC Texas drew in an impressive crowd of over 3,000 enthusiastic fans, and it showcased the incredible talent of more than 400 athletes from all over North America. The event’s outstanding success did not go unnoticed, and it was honored with the esteemed title of LAN Event of the Year at the inaugural Scholars Awards held in Las Vegas.

Building on the momentum of the previous year, McDonald’s is thrilled to continue their support for the event. They will be bringing a host of engaging on-site activations, creating unique digital content, and offering exciting gaming giveaways. As a special treat, McDonald’s will also roll out a private red carpet Jersey Ceremony at the start of the weekend, where every athlete will be presented with their very own branded jersey, adding an extra touch of prestige to the occasion.

Regional competitions are held throughout the United States to determine the participating teams.

At the close of 2023, the Midwest and East Regional tournaments reached their conclusion, while the CECC South Regional, CECC West Regional, CECC Canadian Regional, and CECC Last Chance Qualifier are slated to occur between February and April 2024.

Sharing his perspective, Michael Schreck, the CEO of CSMG, remarked, “This incredible event continues to captivate interest from numerous markets nationwide. After careful evaluation, we have determined that returning to Texas is the optimal choice, given the remarkable support and collaboration we experienced in 2023, as well as the ongoing growth and resources available in the Dallas sports events market.”

He went on to express, “Our aspiration is to deliver an even more extraordinary and exceptional event in Arlington, uniting the finest scholastic competitors and avid fans from across North America.”
