The publisher of Rainbow Six Siege has rolled out a global reform of the esports calendar — Ubisoft has announced a complete restructuring of the tournament grid for the entire 2026 season. The new scheme, apparently, will link all levels of competitions into a single chain — from the second division to the main Six Invitational championship.

The announcement was published on December 16.

The company rolled out the plan on the official Rainbow Six Esports blog, where they outlined the entire structure from the beginning of the year to the final qualification. The goal is to make the teams’ path clear (competitive clarity) and, in general, to link regional leagues with international majors through SI points.

Global calendar and the structure of the 2026 season

The season starts earlier than usual — the Challenger Series will be launched in February March. This is a tournament for the second division, where teams from the open qualifiers and teams that have dropped out of the top can, in fact, return to the elite.

In April, the kickoff season will be held — the first serious event for tier one teams, and a short format one at that. Among other things, SI points (points for qualifying for the Six Invitational), places at the may major and prizes will be awarded there — the results at the start of the season can determine the entire future campaign of the team.

Two global majors are scheduled for May and November — a return to the classic scheme of international tournaments, apparently. Ubisoft has confirmed, by the way, the integration of the Esports World Cup into the official Rainbow Six calendar — this event will take place in August and will be a key interim stage.

Rainbow Six Esports Calendar for the Full Year

A curious detail is that places at EWC, however, do not give SI points, but the winner gets a direct ticket to the Six Invitational. The first team in a season with a guaranteed slot (direct qualification).

Regional Stages will be deployed twice — June-July and September-October, and in all regions at the same time. Every place there brings SI points — regional stability is now, in general, the main factor for getting to the Six Invitational. The regional finals of the leagues were completely removed — Ubisoft stated that the qualification path for SI now goes only through the points accumulated over the year. No separate final tournaments.

Competitive clarity and the path of qualification for SI

The new structure, according to the publisher, makes the ecosystem clearer — fewer isolated events, more connection between regional games and global championships (connected journey). The logic is simple — every match affects the final qualification.

The details will be revealed at the Six Invitational, where, by the way, they will tell you about registration in the Challenger Series open qualifications.

Rainbow Six Siege esports has been undergoing structural adjustments for several years in a row — Ubisoft continues to polish the global system, while the game maintains a strong international presence in the competitive scene.

Ubisoft has redesigned the Rainbow Six Siege system — details of the 2026 calendar

The publisher has rolled out the details of the reform of the Rainbow Six Siege tournament schedule for 2026 — the company has scheduled, by the way, each stage of the new calendar with an explanation of the bets and mechanics of qualifying for the Six Invitational.

Six Invitational 2026 Hall

We sort by month at the bottom.

Kickoff season and SI points distribution in April

The April kickoff season, apparently, will be the first serious test of the year for elite squads (tier one teams) — this is a fresh addition to the calendar, and a short format one at that. A slow start won’t work here — every match decides the fate of the team for the coming months.

SI points (points for the Six Invitational), slots for the may major and prize money are at stake — all this will be played at a fast pace, where mistakes, however, are expensive. A strong result at the start can determine the trajectory of a team for the entire season — the first weeks set the tone.

Global majors and the may major format in the new season

The May major was returned after feedback from the community — in 2026, in general, two global majors were planned, which will bring together top lineups from all regions. International showdowns will take place twice a year.

Esports World Cup and direct qualification for SI

In two years, the Esports World Cup has become a notable industry event — the best Rainbow Six teams consistently perform there, I must say. Starting in 2026, EWC officially enters the R6 tournament schedule as the interim August championship. A curious decision.

Most places at EWC, by the way, do not bring SI points — but the winner not only takes a share of the prize money, but also becomes the first team of the season with a direct ticket to the Six Invitational. The bets there, in fact, soar to the maximum — a guaranteed slot before everyone else.

Regional stages and the importance of regional consistency

June-July and September-October are two cycles of regional stages, where each position earns SI points. Ratings are no longer for prestige — it’s a direct route to the Six Invitational, actually. Every game is critical, and stability (regional consistency) during both periods can pull a team into SI or, conversely, bury the chances.

The regional league finals in 2026 were completely removed – the calendar was optimized for more international events and activity in regional leagues, so SI points became the main qualification mechanism. Consistency in the regions is more important than one—time ups – this is a new reality.

Advantages of the transparent ecosystem for fans

2026 is not just about the number of tournaments, it’s about a structure that is generally honest, exciting and profitable for players and fans at the same time (transparent ecosystem). This year promises to be the most dynamic in the history of Rainbow Six Esports — clear qualification paths, global events and opportunities for young talents. The details will be revealed at the Six Invitational, where they will tell you more details about the entire season. Justice has been done.

Ubisoft game releases — 2026-2027

The company is rolling out several major projects in the next two years — new parts of Ghost Recon, Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell and Rayman are already in development, apparently. The emphasis is on updating classics — the publisher wants to bring back old fans and, in general, to attract a fresh audience at the same time. A 100 percent strategy.

Ghost Recon new

In addition to single—player games, Ubisoft is expanding its range of multiplayer projects and turn-based strategies – the genre diversity is growing, let’s put it this way. The goal is to reach more niches and keep players inside the ecosystem.

Esports Vision after 2026 — simplification and support

For Rainbow Six Siege, the publisher is preparing a more stable competition system — the league structure has been simplified from nine regions to four, and radically. Fewer regions means higher quality of matches and depth of competition, actually.

The Challenger Series is now taking place in the offseason — this is an innovation for the smooth transition of second-tier teams (tier 2 teams) to the top, by the way. There are more paths for young lineups and organizations — the ecosystem is expanding down to the amateur level.

Support strategy for Tier 3 and amateur teams

Ubisoft is reviewing its approach to content release. Instead of one big release per year, the company has switched to several regular launches. The idea is simple — to avoid sudden spikes in team activity and create stable conditions for all participants, in fact.

The key area is to support Tier 3 and amateur teams through special programs, apparently. The broad base of the community is strengthening — long-term engagement is growing, and new players are getting a chance to break through to the top.

Updating merch and advertising integrations in R6

By the way, the publisher is planning fresh announcements in the esports field — cooperation with top tournament organizers and the introduction of new formats are already in the works, it seems. In-game content is also changing, with a focus on monetization and interaction with fans through updated merch and advertising integration systems.

A powerful strategy is to link game content with commercial opportunities and generally give fans more ways to support their favorite teams.
