Tobi left Nigma Galaxy: results of the trial period and the teams Dota 2 plans - Image 1

Austrian Dota 2 offline player Tobias “Tobi” Buchner is no longer listed as part of the Nigma Galaxy — his lease term has come to an end, and the parties have quietly closed this stage of collaboration. He joined the roster on October 8 and remained with the team until December 3, 2025. A message about the departure appeared on the club’s social networks, as is usually the case with the Nigma esports organization.

Tobi has left the Nigma Galaxy: the end of the trial period in Dota 2

Our test period with Tobi is over. We thank him for his contribution and wish him good luck further.

Such a tonal “farewell” post clearly hints: no conflicts, just the Tobi trial period is over, and the team is moving on.

Nigma Galaxy Dota 2: Current lineup after Tobi’s departure:

  • Aibek “TA2000” Tokayev
  • Said “SumaiL” Samail Hassan
  • Tony “No!ob” Assaf
  • Omar “OmaR” Mughrabi

While Tobi was in the lineup, the team managed to grab the 4th place at FISSURE Universe: Episode 7, and then finished in the 12-14 positions at PGL Wallachia Season 6 and FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 — Dota. Unfortunately, it was not possible to qualify for BLAST Slam V. Interestingly, Buchner temporarily replaced Maroon “GH” Merhei, who decided to take a break and became inactive in the team’s schedule.

Now, the Nigma Galaxy Dota 2 is preparing for the next challenge — DreamLeague Season 27. The tournament will last for a whole time from December 10 to December 21 in an online format. At least 24 bands will perform, and all of them will compete for a massive prize pool of $1,000,000.

Tobi Dota 2 Career: From Entity and TI11 to Experience in Nigma Galaxy

If you look at Tobi’s biography in its entirety, it turns out to be a fairly complete story of an Austrian offline artist who stubbornly sticks close to the tier-1 scene. At first, he opened up in ViKin.gg where in 2020 he collected a solid pack of second-tier tournaments, after which he grew up to the composition of Entity Dota and spent more than a year there, playing DPC and going out with the team to TI11.

It was at Entity that Buchner’s career gained a recognizable face: a confident lane, a willingness to take on “dirty” work, and a calm game under pressure. Then there were new steps — Quest/PSG Quest, MOUZ, short sprints in different roasters, until his name popped up next to Tundra TI2025. An unexpected call to The International turned Tobi into the “Austrian support” at position 5, when Tundra was urgently looking for a replacement for Whitemon before the tournament.

Now tobi’s biography is complemented by a chapter about Nigma Galaxy: after years at Entity and stand-up experience at TI2025, he has finally reached the legendary brand and is trying to prove that his career Buchner is still moving upward, and not by inertia.

Replacing Tobi in Nigma Galaxy: pos5 Candidates and Plans for DreamLeague Season 27

After Tobi’s departure, the main question immediately arises for Nigma Galaxy: who will take the top 5 next? There are enough people in the free agents 2025 market who can fill the role of a classic support captain: a calm draft, a voice in teamfights, and a lot of dirty work on the line – what is usually sought for Dota support candidates.

Given the history of the club, it is difficult to expect sharp rotations in the roster: under the leadership of Kuro, the organization usually keeps the backbone for a long time and changes players precisely when it is sure of the choice. It is possible that in the coming tournaments we will see the stand-in Sigma format again — temporary support for pos5, as has happened before with long-term stands. This approach gives you time to take a closer look at the player in combat conditions and decide whether to turn him into a full-fledged member of the squad.
