IEM Krakow 2026 will be a real technological frenzy for fans of Counter-Strike 2. The ESL tournament organizer has officially confirmed that the ZOWIE brand has become an exclusive hardware partner — players, by the way, will have at their disposal monstrous XL2586X+ monitors with a refresh rate of 600 Hz.

The tournament in Krakow opens the calendar of the top events of 2026 and promises to show an incredible level of smoothness of the picture. ZOWIE, in fact, continues its expansion into esports, because in 2025 they already managed to “light up” at the StarLadder in Budapest and the BLAST Fortnite tournaments.

Advantages of 600 Hz monitors for Counter-Strike 2

Zowie Announces XL2586X+ 600Hz Monitor

For a professional CS2 player, the extra hertz is, frankly, a matter of life and death in virtual space. The use of 600 Hz panels at an event such as IEM Krakow 2026 indicates that ESL wants, in principle, to ensure the most honest shooting conditions.

This is not the first time ZOWIE has broken into top arenas: think of the PGL Major in Copenhagen or the Pacific VCT, where their devices were also the standard. The company, in fact, methodically takes over the market of professional peripherals, leaving no chance for competitors to make a mistake.

DyAc 2 technology and image clarity in shooters

In the pro-Strike 2 scene, every hertz has long ceased to be just marketing trash. When the refresh rate of the screen breaks through the ceiling of 540-600 Hz, these are no longer numbers — these are, in fact, additional windows of reality that separate the triumph in the clutch from the shameful departure. The ZOWIE XL-K series with DyAc 2 technology squeezes the maximum out of the Valve engine, turning the chaos of a firefight into a sterically clear picture.

Why 600 Hz is the base for the top shooting range of esports

High-frequency panels in the 600 Hz range seem to completely reshape the visual landscape: during sharp flicks, the target no longer resembles a blurred blob. In CS2, where a pixel of the enemy’s head can flash through the gap in a split second, extra frames allow you to see the opponent with your eyes, and not just “feel” his intuition.

One caveat should be taken into account: the 600-hertz monster does not know how to draw frames out of thin air. In order to really feel the profit, your computer, in theory, should consistently output about 500-600 FPS — only then will the bundle of hardware and the monitor begin to work as a single organism. By the way, such configs have long become the standard for pros, because without an extreme frame rate, a top—end monitor is just an expensive stand.

The principle of operation of the ZOWIE strobe backlight

The ZOWIE XL-K line, to be honest, was originally created not for watching movies, but for total domination in shooters. DyAc 2 is not just a checkmark in the menu, but, in fact, an aggressive backlight control system that cleans the “tails” of moving objects.

How it works in the heat of battle:

  • Flick shots: With a sharp jerk of the sight, the enemy’s model, by the way, remains clear, and does not turn into a plume.
  • Spray control: The technology removes the shaking of the image when clamped — you can literally see where each bullet is going.
  • Catching a rush: The enemy’s exit from around the corner becomes predictable, by the way, since the blur at the moment of the jerk is reduced to zero.

As a result, DyAc 2 gives the player’s brain more time to make a decision. Instead of guessing from a blurred silhouette, you work with specific pixels along the way, onto which you can instantly “glue” a crosshair.

The effect of high refresh rate on reaction time

Formally, DyAc 2 does not go into the game code and does not reduce the input lag in milliseconds, but by the way, it feels like everything is changing dramatically. Due to the fact that the strobed backlight removes the “mess” between frames, mouse movements begin to seem, in principle, more straightforward and obedient.

The brain receives a clear visual response to each micro-movement, and the standard 180-200 ms reactions turn into confident prefires. In a world where everyone knows how to shoot, and tactics are honed to automatism, such a visual handicap is, in truth, exactly what decides the outcome of the final. ZOWIE simply turns each frame into a separate chance to win, and it’s impossible to ignore this at the pro level. Let’s take a closer look at the tournament.

What is IEM Krakow?

Initially, this championship was planned to be held in Katowice, but plans have changed — now Krakow will become the center of power. The tournament will be held offline from January 28 to February 8, 2026, and this, by the way, will be the first event of the Intel Extreme Masters series in the new season.

There is a big jackpot at stake: exactly $1,000,000 of the total prize pool. In addition, Valve will probably be generous with another $250,000 in special payments to clubs — that’s solid, isn’t it?

The schedule of the stages and the format of the tournament in Krakow

In total, 24 teams selected according to Valve’s global rating for the beginning of 2026 will come to Poland. The tournament grid, by the way, is divided into three classic stages:

  1. Play-In: a double-elimination round of 16 teams;
  2. Group stage: here the top 8 invited teams will join the best of the Play-In;
  3. Playoffs: the final meat grinder for relegation.

All elimination matches will be held in the Bo3 format, but the grand final of IEM Krakow 2026 will force the players to give their best in the process – a full—fledged Bo5 series awaits us. Given the frequency of 600 Hz, the picture will fly, and the reaction of the esports players will be tested to the limit of human capabilities.
