ENVY and ZOWIE: The return of the legendary union in the era of Hastr0 - Image 1

ENVY made a grand announcement to the entire audience — now the ZOWIE brand officially supplies them with monitors. This is the club’s first major deal since Mike “Hastr0” Rufail fully regained control of the organization in January 2025, buying it out from OpTic Gaming.

To be honest, the details of the contract are still being kept under lock and key — no specifics on the amounts or deadlines. However, one fact should be taken into account — these guys already worked together back in 2016. To effectively highlight the comeback, ENVY posted a juicy 30-second video on social media, where they played through the best moments of their history over the past 11 years. There are triumphs in Call of Duty, and legendary frags from Counter-Strike — it looks powerful, really.

“We are really glad that ZOWIE is back in business as our official monitor partner,” Hastr0 wrote on his accounts. According to him, high—quality hardware is critically important for winning, and it’s always a pleasure to work with market leaders. Actually, there’s nothing to argue with.

ZOWIE is now, in fact, dictating fashion in the industry. In June 2025, the company opened its own esports science laboratory in the Netherlands. There, engineers use sports techniques to bring the periphery to the ideal — this is a serious level. Remember the November Counter-Strike major in Budapest, which StarLadder hosted — the entire tournament, including the playoffs, was played on their flagship XL2586+ monitors.

ENVY in 2026: Heading for VALORANT

It’s going to be a hot year for ENVY in 2026. Since the Hastr0 boss regained the brand, the organization has begun to aggressively expand and sign new lineups. Although it was not without losses — on January 5, the club officially left the Rainbow Six, completely curtailing its activity there.

But the main intrigue now lies elsewhere.

ENVY is now one of the 12 elite teams that will compete in the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Americas season. The guys have literally carved out a place for themselves in the sun by winning the VCT Ascension Americas 2025 grand final – now they are in the top division.

Their campaign for the title in VCT 2026 starts on January 15th at the Americas Kickoff. The first serious test will be a match against Evil Geniuses in the Bo3 format. Let’s see if the new monitors will help pick up this series — it’s going to be hot, that’s for sure.

The history of Envy sponsorship deals and monetization

In fact, the American bosses from Team Envy are real mastodons in matters of monetization, because they have learned one simple truth from the very beginning: cups and medals for Valorant or CoD bring fame, but it is long—term partnerships that ensure real cashflow and business survival. By the way, their early visits with GameStop or Jack in the Box were simply brilliant — this allowed the organization not only to shine a logo, but to integrate into giant promo networks and merch campaigns of fast food brands. Let’s just say that back then, at the dawn of development, these deals worked more for brand awareness than for a deep gameplay impact. Nevertheless, Envy was already attracting large investors back then — just remember the injection of $35 million from Hersh Interactive, who saw esports not just as toys, but as a bottomless market for sponsorship integrations. The commercial takeoff, apparently, was due to the management’s ability to sell not the lines in the tables, but the frenzied loyalty of the fan base through streamers and content makers. Logically.

Revenue analysis and Envy’s commercial strategy

Sponsorship injections, along the way, generate up to 70% of the organization’s total revenue — and this is despite the total prize money, which has long exceeded the $ 7.5 million mark. The numbers are impressive. But the most interesting thing here is the evolution of the contracts themselves. In fact, the transition from retail like GameStop to technology giants like ZOWIE clearly shows growth: modern partners no longer see Envy as just a picture on a jersey, but as a full-fledged testing ground for their top-end hardware at the pro level.

Choosing a niche wisely — focusing on shooters, where every millisecond of delay can cost a title — has provided the organization with a unique status. As a result, they grabbed exclusives and roles in R&D development (research and testing), which many competitors, frankly, still have to grow and grow. It seems that long-term agreements with Razer (the same multi—year contract) and the official status of ZOWIE are the very foundation on which their financial stability stands.
