About MVP Ozone
MVP Ozone was a South Korean professional League of Legends team that competed within the country’s top domestic circuit, the league that would evolve into the modern LCK. Fielded under the MVP organisation, Ozone was one of the affiliated Korean squads that populated the scene during an era defined by prolific brands running multiple rosters and by the region’s swift ascent to global prominence.
Part of the MVP Family
The MVP brand, like several of its Korean contemporaries, maintained more than one team, and Ozone stood as one of these distinct competitive entities. This sister-team arrangement was a hallmark of early Korean League of Legends, enabling organisations to enter multiple lineups into qualifiers and to develop a wide pool of players simultaneously. Ozone carried the MVP name into battle as its own identifiable unit within that framework.
The Korean Proving Ground
Competition in South Korea set the global standard. The LCK and the structures that preceded it demanded meticulous macro understanding, deep champion mastery, and cohesive teamplay, and teams that survived there earned respect worldwide. For MVP Ozone, this meant facing a dense field of rivals week after week, each series a stern examination of preparation and execution in the most unforgiving domestic environment the game has known.
As was typical of the time, roster stability was elusive. Players moved frequently among affiliated squads and competing organisations, and the fortunes of teams like Ozone could pivot sharply with each reshuffle. The constant flow of talent was both a challenge and a defining characteristic of the Korean scene in which the team operated.
A Closed Chapter
MVP Ozone is today a former team, disbanded and no longer active in competition. Even so, its participation formed part of the rich, layered history of Korean League of Legends, a scene whose depth and intensity shaped the sport internationally. As one of the affiliated MVP sides of its generation, Ozone endures in the record of the region that produced many of the game’s most celebrated champions.
