Players receive two more rune pages as the first League Classic Council vote begins

League Classic opened its first council vote on August 26. Voting takes place in the Council tab of the League client and remains open for seven days.
Patch 26.17 also gives every player two additional rune pages. Riot increased Influence Point and Classic experience gains and reduced the price of about one third of the runes.
The first council vote remains open for seven days
Players can vote through the Council tab in the League client. The first voting period runs from August 26 to September 2. Classic activity can increase the weight of a player’s vote. Riot said this system gives regular players a larger role in decisions about the mode.
The council vote is separate from normal matches. Players choose an option in the client and can continue playing while the voting period remains open.
Two more rune pages make different setups easier to save
The original League rune system used marks, seals, glyphs and quintessences.
Players combined those statistics into pages for different champions and roles. Patch 26.17 adds two rune pages to every account in League Classic. Players can now save more setups without replacing an existing page.
Riot also reduced the price of about one third of the runes. Higher Influence Point gains make it faster to buy the remaining options through normal play.
Patch 26.17 also updates the classic map and champion selection
Riot changed the lighting, textures and decals on Summoner’s Rift. The goal is to move the map closer to its earlier visual style. Champion Select now supports champion swaps and role swaps. The update also contains about twenty balance changes and several dozen bug fixes.
These changes apply alongside the new voting system and account progression updates. They do not require a separate download from the normal patch.

Experience and Influence Point gains are now higher
Classic experience now rises faster across the mode. Influence Point gains also increased, so players can unlock runes with fewer matches. The lower prices affect about one third of the available runes. The change reduces the time needed to complete a useful page for a champion or role.
The update keeps the old rune system while making its setup less restrictive. The two extra pages also reduce the need to rebuild a saved configuration before each match.
Classic balance changes cover several roles
Patch 26.17 changes about twenty champions in League Classic. The adjustments cover the middle lane, bottom lane, jungle and top lane instead of concentrating on one position. Ahri receives lower health regeneration and a longer cooldown on Spirit Rush. Blitzcrank loses part of the shield from Mana Barrier, and Rocket Grab receives a shorter range and a higher mana cost. These changes reduce the safety of two strong champions.
Other champions receive help. Annie gains more damage and a longer stun. Ashe receives more damage and range on Volley. Garen gains attack damage, armour growth and stronger defensive scaling from Courage. The patch also fixes old ability errors. Heimerdinger’s upgraded turret no longer deals double damage. Jax’s Leap Strike now deals the correct damage type, and several Miss Fortune abilities work more consistently. These changes are separate from the new rune pages and council vote.
Two additional rune pages make saved setups easier to manage
League Classic now gives every account two additional rune pages. Riot also increased Influence Point and Classic experience gains. The price of about one third of the runes was reduced. These changes let players save more setups and reach new options faster. Rune choices still remain fixed after the match begins.
