The Story of Singed
Singed answers to money, not conscience. He is an alchemist working out of Zaun, the chem-soaked undercity beneath Piltover, and he sells his formulas to whoever pays, indifferent to how the resulting chaos plays out afterward — the fallout, to him, is just another data point. Zaun itself rewards that kind of ambition; it’s an inventive, dangerous place where toxic experimentation is less an aberration than a way of life, and Singed simply takes that culture further than most.
His best-known creation is shimmer, the substance that let Zaun’s chembarons carve the undercity into fiefdoms under their control. That single invention reshaped the city’s underworld, yet Singed treats it as one experiment among many rather than a legacy; whatever he brews next is described as darker than whatever came before, with no sign the pattern will stop. Classed as a hybrid tank and mage, he’s built to hold his own at the top of the map or in the middle lane just as easily, his mana pool feeding the same toxic tools no matter where he’s put to work.
His fighting style follows the same reckless logic as his lab work. Poison Trail leaves a corrosive path behind him that punishes anyone following too closely, Mega Adhesive traps enemies in place, and Fling launches a target into the air — useful for throwing them straight into his own toxic wake or into a patch of Mega Adhesive to root them further. Insanity Potion, his ultimate, is a self-administered dose that boosts his combat stats and turns his Poison Trail into something that stops enemies from healing at all. His passive, Noxious Slipstream, even speeds him up simply for brushing past nearby champions, ally or otherwise — one more small experiment folded into how he moves through a fight. Zaun’s other infamous chemical minds, from Dr. Mundo to Ekko, share the same undercity, though none work quite so indiscriminately as Singed does.
