The Story of Dr. Mundo
Dr. Mundo is the reason many residents of Zaun stay indoors once the dark sets in. He was once a patient at the undercity’s most notorious asylum, not an employee, and that detail matters: everything he now practices as a self-declared physician is something he first experienced strapped to the table himself.
After overpowering the staff who once treated him, Mundo claimed the empty wards as his own practice and began repeating the same unethical procedures on whoever wandered in. He has no real medical training, only a cabinet full of chemicals and an apparent immunity to consequences. Each injection makes him larger, more purple, and more monstrous than the last, which is precisely the point: Mundo does not treat pain so much as consume it and grow from it.
His kit follows the same logic of self-experimentation:
- Goes Where He Pleases lets him shrug off the first immobilizing effect against him, losing health and dropping a chemical canister he can recover later.
- Infected Bonesaw is a thrown blade that slows and damages a target based on their current health.
- Heart Zapper is a self-inflicted shock that damages nearby enemies and stores power for a later burst.
- Blunt Force Trauma grants bonus attack damage that scales with his own max health, backed by a bag-swing that hits even harder.
- Maximum Dosage, his ultimate, is an instant chemical surge that heals a share of his missing health, then grants bonus Move Speed and keeps regenerating a portion of his max health over a long duration.
Everything about him scales off the health he keeps piling on. A well-timed use of that ultimate can bait an overconfident enemy into committing damage they cannot actually finish him with, though anyone who applies an anti-heal effect right as he activates it can blunt a large share of what he recovers. Either way, a doctor with no license and no training remains one of Zaun’s most dangerous residents regardless.
