The Story of Ornn
Beneath the volcano Hearth-Home, deep in the frozen expanse of the Freljord — a harsh land of rival tribes and old ice magic, where older gods still stir beneath the snow — Ornn works alone. He is the spirit of forging, hammering ore pulled from bubbling lava cauldrons into instruments of remarkable quality, undisturbed by the tribes warring above him. Solitude suits him; he has no interest in mortal politics, only in the craft.
That solitude ends whenever the other Freljordian spirits stir. When gods like Volibear walk the earth and interfere in the affairs of mortals, Ornn rises from his smithy to put them back in their place, whether with his hammer or with fire drawn from the mountain itself. It is less a rivalry than a duty: someone has to enforce order among beings who answer to no one else.
Played as a tank in the top lane and fueled by mana like most of his Freljordian kin, his kit mirrors his trade directly:
- Living Forge grants him bonus Armor and Magic Resist from every source, and lets him spend gold to forge non-consumable items anywhere on the map, including masterwork versions built for himself and nearby allies.
- Volcanic Rupture slams the ground, opening a fissure that damages and slows enemies before a pillar of magma rises at its far end.
- Bellows Breath sends him advancing while breathing fire, leaving anyone caught in the final gout of flame brittle and easier to break.
- Searing Charge drives him forward through enemies, and detonates into a knockup if he collides with terrain along the way.
- Call of the Forge God, his ultimate, summons a massive elemental that gathers speed as it travels toward him, damaging, slowing, and making brittle anything it runs over.
Every tool exists to make and to break in equal measure, much like the mountain that shelters him. He shares that harsh, ancient corner of the Freljord with figures such as Anivia and Braum, though few of them share his taste for solitude.
