Braum

Ask around the mead halls north of Frostheld and someone will have a Braum story ready, usually involving a forest of oaks or a mountain that no longer looks like a mountain. Whether every detail holds up doesn’t seem to matter much to the people telling them, what matters is that Braum earned that reputation, and earned the affection that comes with it, in the Freljord.

He carries an enchanted vault door as a shield, which says something about how he approaches a fight: less a weapon aimed at hurting someone, more a wall placed between danger and whoever needs protecting. That instinct, paired with a mustachioed grin that never seems to fade, has made him something closer to a folk hero than a warrior, someone people expect to show up when they need him and to mean it when he smiles.

His abilities are built the same way. Concussive Blows spreads across his and his allies’ basic attacks, building stacks that stun a target once it reaches four. Winter’s Bite adds a slow and a stack from range. Stand Behind Me is Braum closing distance to a friend, granting Armor and Magic Resist the moment he arrives. Unbreakable is the shield doing exactly what it looks built for, catching every projectile from one direction and shrugging off the first full hit entirely. Glacial Fissure, his ultimate, knocks up and slows everything in a line, leaving frozen ground behind that keeps punishing anyone who has to cross it. Alongside other defenders of the region such as Anivia, Braum stands as one more reason the Freljord, for all its harshness, isn’t short on people willing to protect it.

Braum is built to be played in the top lane or as a support, his Mana fueling defense rather than any offense of his own. Where Gnar brings volatile, transforming energy to the same region, Braum brings the opposite: something steady enough for an entire tribe to lean on.
