The Story of Naafiri
Across the sands of Shurima, dune hounds roam in fierce, competitive packs, fighting each other as much as anything else for the right to hunt across the empire’s ruins. Naafiri leads the pack that has risen above every rival group, and the reason isn’t only sharper instinct. Buried beneath the desert for centuries, the empire’s fallen god-warriors are beginning to stir again, and Naafiri’s pack draws its edge from that same ancient source: the power of the Darkin, channeled through a creature that still hunts like the animal it resembles.
- We Are More, her passive, spawns packmates that jump onto whatever she attacks.
- Darkin Daggers lets her throw up to two blades that cause bleeding, hitting harder if the target is already bleeding.
- The Call of the Pack turns her untargetable while summoning more hounds and boosting her speed and damage.
- Eviscerate dashes through an area, damaging enemies and recalling wounded packmates so she can heal them.
- Hounds’ Pursuit sends the whole pack at one champion, with a second cast available after a takedown.
Beneath the surface, Naafiri belongs to the same buried world as Nasus and Azir — a Shurima where old power hasn’t finished waking up, and where a pack of hounds turning out to be more than beasts is just one more sign of it.
In battle, Naafiri plays as an Assassin-Fighter hybrid most often in Mid or Top lane, drawing on mana like many of the champions tied to Shurima’s resurgence. The empire itself is a once-glorious desert power now buried in sand, its ascended god-warriors stirring back to life, a backdrop that makes a hound pack driven by Darkin power feel less like an anomaly and more like one more piece of that empire waking up. Naafiri hunts accordingly: less a lone predator than the visible edge of a much larger, older thing beginning to move again.
