The Story of Lissandra
A Colder Kind of Magic
Ice, in Lissandra’s hands, stops behaving like ordinary ice. Rather than simply chilling her enemies, she bends the substance into something closer to black glass, capable of piercing straight through whatever stands against her rather than just numbing it. The people of the frozen north who witness this only ever learn one name for her, spoken with the kind of dread usually reserved for half-legend, half-warning: the Ice Witch.
The Age She Actually Intends to Bring
That title undersells her. Lissandra isn’t merely a menace stalking Freljord‘s wilds — she is a deliberate corrupter of the natural order, working patiently toward an ice age that would blanket the entire world, not just her own frozen home. Her kit mirrors that ambition at a smaller scale. Ice Shard punches straight through a line of enemies, slowing everyone it touches, while Ring of Frost locks down anyone who strays too close and Glacial Path lets her vanish and reappear wherever the fight needs her next, always a step ahead of pursuit. Her ultimate, Frozen Tomb, can seal an enemy champion in ice outright or encase Lissandra herself, buying time to keep working toward a winter that never lifts. As a mage built entirely around mid-lane control, she spends that mana turning tight spaces into death traps for anyone who wanders too close.
A Cruelty Built Into Her Passive
Even death doesn’t end her influence over a fight. Iceborn Subjugation, her passive, turns any champion who dies near her into a Frozen Thrall — a corpse that slows nearby enemies before shattering apart from the cold. It’s a small, mechanical cruelty that fits a mage who has already decided the rest of the world simply hasn’t frozen enough yet. Warriors of the Freljord like Braum and Ashe know her homeland as something worth protecting; Lissandra knows it only as a foundation to build colder from.
