Aurelion Sol

Aurelion Sol used to build things for their own sake. He filled the emptiness of the cosmos with celestial creations of his own design, working at a scale that made him something closer to an artist than a soldier, shaping wonders that answered to no one but himself.

A space-faring empire ended that. Tricked into servitude, he now spends his power at the direction of masters rather than his own imagination, and everything about his current kit reads like a caged version of what he used to do freely: Breath of Light channels his dragon fire in a long stream rather than shaping a star, splashing lesser damage onto whatever stands near the first target it hits. Astral Flight lets him fly straight over terrain that would otherwise box him in, freeing up his other abilities to be cast without their usual limits while he does. Singularity crushes space into a black hole that slowly drags enemies toward its center rather than opening new worlds, and Falling Star drags an actual star out of the sky and slams it into the ground, less creation now than weapon, stunning anyone caught underneath it. Cosmic Creator turns each fight into fuel, breaking enemies down into Stardust that permanently strengthens every one of his other abilities.

He wants his old freedom back badly enough to threaten pulling the stars down to get it, a scale of ambition that fits his home in Targon, a place already built around cosmic mystery, where he shares the record with other celestial-adjacent figures such as Aphelios, whose own weapons are also drawn from the sky rather than forged on the ground, and Diana, whose own devotion likewise points upward, toward the sky, rather than down toward any one single nation sitting on the ground below.
