The Story of Aphelios

Aphelios does not speak, and the story treats that silence as central rather than incidental. A poison keeps him mute, so everything he communicates to an opponent comes through his aim and the firing of a gun rather than through words, killing the enemies of his faith without a sound of his own.

None of that would function without his sister Alune. Working from a distant temple, she is the one designing and handing over each of his five Lunari weapons, one after another, and the game mechanics reflect that partnership directly: The Hitman and the Seer passive gives him two of those five at a time, one in each hand, Phase swaps between them mid-fight, and the empty third slot in his kit simply shows which weapon Alune is readying to send him next rather than an ability of his own making. Calibrum marks a target for a long-range follow-up shot, Severum trades range for sustain, and each of the remaining weapons carries its own distinct effect on top of a matching basic attack, so the pair he is holding at any moment decides how the fight actually plays out.

Moonlight Vigil, his ultimate, fires a concentrated blast that applies whatever unique effect his current main-hand gun carries, which means his single most powerful move is defined entirely by whichever weapon Alune has most recently put in his hands. He kills for his faith in near-total silence, guided the whole time by a sister he cannot speak to directly, and the moon overhead is the one constant tying the two of them together. His path runs through Targon, a setting built around celestial power and cosmic mystery that fits a weapon guided by moonlight rather than by its own voice, since almost nothing about him makes sense without accounting for the sister standing behind it.
