Master Yi vs Jax Counter Pick

A dodge button settles a duel between two basic-attack scalers. Master Yi holds 42.8% across 276 top games on patch 16.13.1, a hard matchup by the computed grade.

Counter Strike is the reason. Jax dodges incoming basic attacks for its duration and then stuns everything around him, which switches off Yi’s entire damage pattern at the moment it matters. Double Strike and Wuju Style both require attacks to land; the latter adds true damage that ignores resistances completely, and it is worth nothing during a dodge window. Alpha Strike grants a brief untargetable frame and multi-target damage, but it does not cancel the stun that follows.

The stat sheet is close and tilted slightly against him. Jax carries 650 base health and 36 armor to Yi’s 640 and 33, with 68 attack damage against 65; by level eighteen the health totals nearly converge at 2,401 and 2,425. Yi is faster at 355 move speed against 350 and can ignore slows entirely under Highlander, so leaving a bad trade is possible when Meditate has already been spent.
