the Dark Child
Few champions convert simplicity into kill pressure as efficiently as Annie. Played in mid lane and as a support, she is a burst mage whose magic rating of 10 comes packaged in point-and-click reliability: most of her damage cannot be dodged, which makes her a favorite counter to slippery, mobile opponents.
The engine of her kit is Pyromania. After casting four spells, her next offensive spell stuns its target — and she spawns with the stun already charged. This turns every trade into a threat calculation for the enemy: is the stun up? Disintegrate, her fireball, refunds its mana cost when it kills the target, letting Annie farm from range almost for free while quietly stacking passive charges. Incinerate adds cone area damage for waveclear and trades, while Molten Shield protects her or an ally, grants a burst of Move Speed and burns attackers.
Everything builds toward Summon: Tibbers. Dropping her flaming bear with a stored Pyromania stun deals huge area damage, locks down everyone in the radius and leaves a burning, attacking pet on the battlefield. A stunned carry under Tibbers rarely survives the follow-up Disintegrate and Incinerate. As a support, the same combo becomes one of the most straightforward engage tools in the game.
Annie rewards players who enjoy managing a single resource — stun timing — rather than mechanical execution. Her drawbacks are her short effective threat range for a mage and a defense rating of 3, so once her shield and stun are spent she has no way to escape.
