The Story of Annie
Annie looks like a child because she is one, which makes everything else about her harder to reconcile. Nothing about her outward manner warns anyone what she is actually capable of until it is already too late to matter.
- A mage born with pyromantic power well beyond her years
- An outlier even by the standards of the mountains near Noxus where she grew up
- A childhood defined by emotional outbursts that came out as fire before she learned to control them
- A companion in Tibbers, the teddy bear she can call into being as a burning protector
- A wanderer who never quite left the perpetual innocence of childhood behind
She still refers to her fire as playful tricks, and in a sense that framing is accurate: Disintegrate hurls a mana-infused fireball that refunds its own cost if it finishes off the target, Incinerate sweeps a cone of flame across anyone standing too close together, and Pyromania rewards her for simply casting enough spells in a row rather than for any elaborate setup, arming her next spell to stun whoever it touches. Molten Shield gives her or an ally a burst of speed and a shield that burns back at anyone foolish enough to keep hitting it, and Summon: Tibbers turns her favorite toy into the biggest threat on the field, a bear that fights on its own and burns anything that lingers near him. Wandering the dark forests near Noxus in search of someone to play with, she carries a kind of danger that has nothing to do with growing up, which is exactly why it tends to catch people off guard. Anyone expecting a straightforward mage learns quickly that Annie’s threat is not in how much power she has, but in how casually and how quickly she reaches for it.
