The Crimson Desert developers have clearly decided to turn up the heat. With the release of update 1.05.00, the game introduced a feature that will initially infuriate many: repeat sieges. The idea is simple: any territory you liberate, be it a tiny camp or a huge fortress, can fall back into enemy hands. And yes, you will have to retake it. And again. And again.
Sounds like an artificial extension of gameplay? Perhaps. But there is good news: this mechanic can be completely disabled in the settings. A couple of clicks, and your fortresses will remain under your control forever.

Setting gameplay settings and Stable mode
The process is not obvious, but it is simple:
-
Open the main menu (Start / Settings) and press R1/RB to go to the “Other” tab.
-
Now press L2/LT until you reach the “Settings” section, and then click “Settings.”
-
Use L2/LT again to scroll to “Gameplay.”
-
Find the “Re-siege Frequency” setting and set it to “Stable.”

That is it. After this, enemies will never be able to recapture your territories again. Neither small camps nor fortresses are an option. The mechanics become dead weight — or rather, something that simply does not exist.
By the way, the developers did not explain why they added repeatable sieges by default. Perhaps they wanted to increase replayability. But if you value your time and do not want to run around retaking the same thing every hour, it is better to go to the settings and make life easier. Patch 1.05.00 is worth it.
Overview of Siege Frequency Modes: Conflict and War
Besides “Stable” (where fortresses remain yours forever), there are two other modes in the settings. Both are for those who enjoy suffering or, conversely, want endless action.
Conflict
Territories are captured by enemies, but not constantly. From time to time. Most often, after fast travel or resting by a campfire. And that is where the lottery begins: you never know which camp or fortress will be captured. Unpleasant? But unexpected.
War
This is more of a test of endurance. Liberated fortresses are recaptured with enviable regularity and fierce resistance. Prepare for endless combos and battles. Every time you return to a point, there is a horde of enemies again. This mode is clearly for those who do not have enough of the main content.

Recommendations for optimizing gameplay
Personally, I would advise leaving it on “Stable” and forgetting about it. The mechanic itself is not bad – it allows you to test builds and continue fighting even after the map is completely cleared. But here is the problem: the world in Crimson Desert is huge, and there are tons of secrets. And I, for one, really do not want to be distracted by the fact that I have to retake some camp in the middle of exploring.
It just wastes time. Time that could be spent finding interesting locations, not running back and forth.
Want to linger at the “Progress Counter” (or whatever it is called) and enjoy combat encounters? Then try siege mode. But if you, like me, prefer to explore the world without worrying about all your hard work going to waste, it is better to keep repeat sieges turned off. Trust me, it is more peaceful that way.
