If you’re looking for a character that can maximize damage output while staying out of the fight, consider Hathor. She is a Lakshana character, and she is a pure sub-DPS. She is an S-class character, by the way. Her skill + ultimate combo produces numbers that will leave many primary DPS players in stitches. The key is to build her correctly. And we will break down how to do that now.

How to build Hathor for maximum damage output?

Hathor build damage guide

Spoiler: The signature Arcana rules here. But there is also a backup option if you happen to give Raging Flames to someone else. Here is what you will need:

Slot Best Choice
Arcana Raging Flames (primary), Fluff of Fortitude (replacement)
Cartridge Street Boxer
Primary Cartridge Stats Lakshana Damage, Critical Damage, Attack Power (ATK), Critical Chance
Secondary Stats Critical Damage, Critical Chance, Damage, ATK

Benefits of Raging Flames Arcana for burst rotation

Raging Flames Arcana effect

This Arcana is free. And it is S-Class. Sounds good, right? But the trick is different: Raging Flames adds additional critical damage from secondary stats and simply increases Lakshana overall damage without any “if-this-that” implications. The passive is absolutely fantastic: after her ultimate, Hathor gains about 20% bonus skill damage.

Now imagine her Cyclone Strike with that 20%. This is not just a buff — it turns the ability into a mini-bosskiller. It is no wonder Raging Flames is considered Hathor signature Arcana. It fits her mechanics perfectly.

Fluff of Fortitude as an alternative weapon for Hathor

Let me warn you right away: Raging Flames is better. And it is free. So, if you can, take it. But sometimes this Arcana is already taken by another character in your party. Then take a look at the Fluff of Fortitude from the Battle Pass. Simply wearing it grants Hathor a bonus percentage of damage and attack power. No complicated requirements. Her ultimate and skills will still pack a punch, just a little weaker than with the ideal setup. However, it is a perfectly acceptable replacement.

Hathor console setup and best module selection

Let us move on to the hardware. More specifically, Hathor console. The combination of ammo and modules is crucial here, plus the correct skill leveling order. Let us get started.

Why Street Boxer is the best ammo for crit builds

Street Boxer crit stats

With it, Hathor gains up to 28% critical chance. A significant number, right? And most importantly, this bonus frees up other slots where you can safely invest in critical damage. But there is a catch: to activate the full potential, Hathor and her team must apply the Remora or Stain status effects. This increases the critical chance even further. Plus, the set itself grants 10% damage to Lakshana. That is, when Hathor enters the field, she hits noticeably harder.

Choosing Type III modules for ATK power

It is simple and logical. To complete the Street Boxer set, you will need two Type III modules — each adds 10% attack power (ATK). After that, there is room for two more of the same type. That is a total of 40% ATK from the modules alone. A decent boost to combat effectiveness, you will agree. Incidentally, this significantly increases Hathor overall damage output in battle.

Skill leveling priority and Hathor ultimate ability

Hathor skill priority order

For a standard damage dealer build, the order is:

  • Ultimate → Misdirection Skill → Basic Attack

Why is this? Swift Steed (part of Hathor arsenal) turns preparation into actual damage. It amplifies your regular skill, scales with accumulated stacks, and creates that burst window. This is where your build really pays off.

Air Command comes second — it is the engine that accumulates stacks and powers the character’s entire cycle. Without it, you cannot really ramp up.

Basic Attack is last. Yes, it stays on the field, but Hathor is not about “standard five-hit spam.” Her style is: prepare and unload. That is it.

Exception? Yes. If you use Hathor more as a support tool for Lakshana/Remora than as your primary damage dealer. Then it makes sense to level Misdirection first. But this is situational.

According to beta community reports, Emergency Delivery is a separate window with a chain of upgraded skills. This is another argument in favor of prioritizing the Ultimate in a standard build.

Hathor in Neverness to Everness is a capricious character that requires precise tuning. If built incorrectly, the vaunted Burst turns into a dud: stacks do not build, the Ultimate does not deal the required damage, and the entire party timings are completely ruined. Let us look at the main mistakes that turn a top-tier damage dealer into a useless liability.

Critical mistakes in Hathor build and their solutions

Hathor build mistakes guide

First of all, forget about leveling your Basic Attack at the start. This is a classic beginner’s trap. Hathor normal attacks are simply filler, needed to fill the gaps between Swift Steed activations. By pouring resources into the base, you are wasting them, as they have virtually no effect on your overall DPS.

Another critical oversight is using the Street Boxer set without the appropriate team. Remember that the cartridge is only fully utilized if the target is afflicted with Remora or Stain. Without an elemental support in your squad, your 28% critical hit chance magically turns into a measly 10-12%. If you want to play Hathor, build a proper roster around her, do not throw her into a random squad.

It is also important not to overdo it with critical hit chance. If you already have Street Boxer active and the bonuses from Raging Flames, boosting critical hit chance through your core module stats is a bad idea. As with most things, after the 70-75% threshold, the benefits from this stat drop off sharply. It would be more effective to shift to critical damage or increase Lakshana damage.

As for weapons, many players mistakenly choose Fluff of Fortitude simply because they got it from the Battle Pass. This is a mistake. Raging Flames is a signature S-class Arcana that is free, and it is head and shoulders above its peers. Fluff should only be considered as a temporary stopgap if your primary Arcana is occupied by another hero for some reason.

Finally, keep an eye on the window after using your ultimate. Raging Flames’ passive grants about 20% skill damage, but the buff does not last long. Any extra cooldown or dash back and the bonus is lost. The ideal rotation is: Ultimate → Cyclone Strike → Swift Steed. All should be used in a single tempo, without unnecessary hesitation.

Table of correct build and rotation for the character

Player Action Consequence Correct Method
Prioritizing Basic Attack first Stacks are gained but not utilized during burst Ultimate → Redirection Skill → Basic
Street Boxer without Remora/Stain in team Crit Rate drops by 15–18% Use a support with elemental debuff in the squad
All modules set to Crit Rate Overcap, stats become idle After 70% Crit — focus on Crit DMG and Lakshana DMG
Fluff of Fortitude when Raging Flames is free Loses 20% Skill DMG after Ultimate Equip Signature Arcane, use Fluff as backup
Ultimate → Cooldown → Strike Burst window is wasted Combo: Ultimate + Cyclone Strike + Steed in sequence

By the way, Hathor is far from a universal soldier who can be taken into any raid. She excels against single targets (or minibosses) in combination with Lakshana and Remora, where she can easily unleash her entire burst. However, against packs of small mobs, her effectiveness drops significantly — it is better to find an AoE damage dealer for such tasks. Understanding a hero specialization is the cornerstone of the Neverness to Everness mechanics.
