Epic Games has released a major content update for Fortnite: Chapter 7, Season 3, which has completely overhauled the battle royale’s current loot pool. The developers not only introduced a powerful arsenal of new guns but also brought back iconic classic equipment, while simultaneously boosting character mobility and adding mysterious Sprites to the map. We’ve already thoroughly tested each new addition in real-world battles—we’re telling you which guns will help you take the top spot in June 2026.

New weapons added to Fortnite: Chapter 7, Season 3

The latest patch introduced six basic weapons, as well as unique Mythic guns. To obtain the Mythic guns, you’ll have to work hard and eliminate dangerous NPC bosses who now patrol key locations on the island.

Full list of new equipment:

  • Extending Focus Shotgun – ideal for range control. The Lancehead Pistol delivers surprisingly high damage, especially if you find the purple or gold version.
  • The Flex SMG is a classic, rapid-fire weapon for close-quarters combat.
  • The Surgical Burst Rifle is a precise, burst-fire weapon.
  • The Chaos Exploder Rifle is the season’s biggest hit, sowing panic with its explosive rounds.
  • The Seven Sliders are a gadget that takes movement dynamics to a new level.
  • The Mythic Assault Rifle drops after defeating the Voidblade boss.
  • The Mythic Retractable Shotgun is a guaranteed reward for defeating the Skeletor boss.

Which Old Weapons Have Returned to Fortnite: Chapter 7, Season 3

For fans of the tried-and-true classics, Epic Games has pulled a solid selection of old weapons from the vault. If the new mechanics aren’t to your liking, you can always build a familiar setup.

The following weapons have returned:

  • Stinger SMG
  • Maven Auto Shotgun
  • Striker Pump Shotgun
  • Chaos Reloader Shotgun
  • Hunting Rifle
  • Business Turret
  • Ranger Pistol

Important tactical detail: Apparently, keeping at least one Sprite in your inventory is now essential. These charming creatures provide powerful passive bonuses, from lifesteal to shield regeneration while performing dance emotes.

Season 3 Meta: The Best Weapons and the Ideal Setup for Victory

Battle Royale balance is constantly shifting—Epic Games will likely continue rotating weapons throughout the rest of the season. But right now, the Chaos Destroyer rifle has emerged as a top favorite among players. It forces opponents to panic and break cover with constant explosions and fire spams. Its decent rate of fire makes it theoretically suitable for point-blank combat, but it truly shines at medium ranges.

For a confident start to the match, we recommend building a combination of a Slide Shotgun, the Chaos Destroyer rifle, and any submachine gun of your choice. Closer to the endgame, when the zone is narrowing, it makes sense to swap the SMG for a high-rarity Spearhead pistol, and be sure to throw Seven Sliding Boots into the free slot for instant distance breaking.
