Warzone Season 05 changes several systems that could decide a fight before players understood what happened. HKD impact damage falls from 220 to 60, its target search radius grows from 38 to 55 metres, and Juggernaut health now changes with squad size instead of using one value in every lobby.

The HKD is less likely to end a fight on contact

Reducing impact damage from 220 to 60 changes the purpose of the device. A direct collision remains meaningful, but it should no longer remove a fully prepared opponent through the impact alone. The player controlling the HKD must use its full effect and choose a sensible approach rather than treating the device as a fast projectile with lethal contact damage.

The lower number also gives the target a clearer chance to react after the first hit. Armour, position and nearby cover become relevant again. This does not make the HKD harmless. It moves power away from a single surprising collision and toward tracking, timing and the follow-up damage that the equipment was designed to deliver.

A wider search area improves target detection

The search radius rises from 38 to 55 metres. That increase balances the lower impact damage by making target acquisition more dependable. A device that misses nearby enemies because its search area is too small feels unreliable, while a device with very high contact damage feels unfair. Season 05 separates those issues and adjusts both instead of changing one number in isolation.

Players should still avoid launching it without information. A larger radius does not guarantee that the chosen target is exposed or that the route is safe. The useful sequence is to gather a location cue, send the HKD from cover and prepare a normal weapon for the response. The equipment supports an attack; it does not replace the decisions that follow.

Juggernaut health now matches squad size

Juggernaut health scales with the number of players in the squad format. A health pool that works in Quads can become unreasonable in Solos, where one person supplies all the damage and cannot rotate tasks with teammates. Scaling allows the encounter to remain durable without asking a solo player to overcome a value intended for four coordinated opponents.

In larger squads, the change preserves the need for focus fire. One player can draw attention while another attacks from a safer angle, and the team can share ammunition pressure. The important point is not that every mode becomes equally easy. The health value now respects how many players are available to solve the same threat.

The balance changes work together

Looking only at the lower HKD damage would suggest a pure nerf. Looking only at the wider radius would suggest a buff. The complete change is more precise: acquisition becomes easier, but accidental burst damage becomes less severe. That combination aims to make the equipment more consistent for its owner and more understandable for the player facing it.

The Juggernaut adjustment follows the same logic. It does not remove the threat or give every lobby one weak version. It changes durability according to context. Warzone contains several squad sizes, so a fixed number can create very different practical difficulty. Context-based tuning is a clearer solution than balancing only around the largest group.

Players can adapt without changing every loadout

The update does not require a complete equipment reset. HKD users should focus more on scouting and controlled deployment, while defenders should listen for the device and move away from predictable cover. Against a Juggernaut, squads should decide who applies pressure and who protects the escape route. Those habits matter more than changing several attachments without testing them.

A useful comparison uses similar conditions across more than one match. Damage numbers can be checked in a controlled encounter, but search behaviour also depends on terrain and line of approach. Juggernaut difficulty changes with the playlist. Recording the mode and squad size prevents a result from Solos being presented as proof of what happens in Quads.

The patch notes require clear wording

These are current balance values, not a prediction about a later event. The numbers are stated in the Season 05 notes and should be described directly. Phrases such as ‘may arrive’ or ‘is expected to change’ would be misleading after the update is active. The article therefore treats the lower damage, wider radius and health scaling as completed changes.

Future hotfixes can adjust them again, so players should compare the in-game version with the latest official notes before using old advice. For now, the design direction is clear: fewer unexplained eliminations, better device reliability and an encounter whose durability matches the number of people fighting it.
